Wasn't me Scott! But it was just on the other side of the mountain from me.

A man who killed a 350-pound bear Tuesday morning on his property will not face charges for the encounter, a Oregon State Police press release said.

The Round Lake-area resident, who asked troopers not to release his name, told officers he had let his dogs out early Monday morning. Moments later, he heard the dogs barking and a roaring sound. Looking outside, he saw the bear chasing the dogs.

He retrieved a rifle and opened the back door, the bear 25 feet away. It turned toward the man in an aggressive manner. He fired two rounds and the bear ran off. It was found dead about 100 yards from his home.

Sgt. Randy Hand, of the OSP Fish and Wildlife Division, reported the man was quite shaken, but neither he nor his dogs were hurt. An investigation found that the evidence matched the man’s description of the incident.

State law allows landowners to use deadly force in those circumstances, police said.

The bear was taken to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for biological samples then given to the Klamath Tribes for dispersal to tribe members.

Hey Al - this guy puts your guy to shame. And he's the Local Pres!
$156k/yr for 2 hrs/day "work".

Union fat cat Mark Rosenthal spends more time sleeping at his desk than organizing labor, a series of damning photos reveals.
The 400-pound president of Local 983 of District Council 37 — the city’s largest blue-collar municipal-workers union — often downs a huge meal, then drops into dreamland in the early afternoon, members of the union’s executive board told The Post.
“He eats lunch when he arrives at work at 2 p.m. Then, like clockwork, he goes to sleep with a cup of soda on the table and the straw in it,” said Marvin Robbins, a union vice president.
“Then he wakes up, looks at his watch and says, ‘I have to get out before the traffic gets bad.’ He’s usually out by 4 p.m. after being at the office two hours.”
Rosenthal is a former Parks Department employee who rose to power campaigning to rid the union of corruption in the late 1990s.

I wonder if all that time in the 'boom boom' room at the parks department wore him out.

Know what you mean. Come July most of my stuff will be gone, then 30 on the mainland in August before heading to HI. waiting for some nice weather here, more than a day at a time anyway. Heading to Amsterdam this weekend on the bike, should be interesting!
