Went car shopping this week, spring seems to do that to me. I've posted pics from this dealer before. Its a little Podunk dealer in a small town of about 2500 people in the rural South. Here's some pics I've taken there before, probably not what you would expect to see in a small farming town in the rural South, but contrary to popular belief, hillbillies have money.
.
Stuff on the used lot.
Some pics when the Viper was going out of production and nobody had one, even dealers in big cities. Yet, here's what was going on in the rural South in a farming town with a population of 2500 people.
Yes, those are the limited production Viper ACRs that set records at the Nurburgring, that at the time were hard to find, unless you were in the rural South.
Oh yeah, these hillbillies had a few more as well for the toothless whitetrash to choose from. They were sold quickly.
Well, when the Viper went on hiatus, things got really boring. But now that it has come back, I'm excited. I love this new one immensely, I want one badly. I'm a Ford guy, but just under the skin I love Mopars, and I love this new Viper. Been drooling over them for months. Well, they finally came out.
These were the only two new 13's they had when I went looking, but I'm aroused. Only problem is that one with the things I want is up into Ford GT money, and that is a hard choice. These were the only ones they had out, but the guy said that they have already sold 5 of them and have many more coming, other dealers are struggling to get one right now.
Decisions, decisions.

Good looking car...just don't like the multitude of scoops in the hood.

That's the SRT, the GTS has a different hood, that's the one I'm really interested in. Only two rear facing scoops, down low toward the front like a FGT, and one center ram air scoop that the Viper has always had.

I like the red one. For some reason that blue on the showroom floor is not popping on camera for me.
Honestly I'd take a 2013 SRT Viper over the FGT for a person like you that will actually drive it. Driving the FGT would be nerve racking because the car is so precious to Ford people. The R is 1/5th the value of the FGT and driving it around is not as fun because of what might happen. You know what I mean. Plus one is new and wicked fast and the other is not as new. If I had a FGT it'd be in my living room under glass.

The one I like is even more. The base price of the GTS is 120K. The color I love is Stryker Red tinted pearl, is a $14,600 option, and the Billet Silver stripes are a $5K option. That's $20K in options just in paint colors. They are hand painted, the stripes are painted on with the color coat and then the clear coat is applied over all of it, then hand wet sanded and polished.
That doesn't even get into the other options.
The exterior carbon fiber package is $5100, brake ducts, rear valence, etc.
The carbon fiber aero package is $4800, splitter, wing, etc.
The wheel packages are all over the place
The 18 speaker Harmon Kardon stereo package is another $1000
$3500 Track package
$7500 Laguna interior package
$3400 interior carbon fiber package.

I tell you what, people in my family can hold a grudge with the best of them. Must go back to that whole war of northern aggression thing.
