You can’t blame the proud father for being delighted. Evan Gattis was out of baseball for four years struggling with depression. He originally comitted to Texas A&M to play before changing his mind because he was afraid to fail a drug test. Gattis was self-medicating with marijuana and alcohol.
In his time away from the game, Gattis, 26, was a ski lift operator, a janitor and a cook. He decided to return in 2006 and played at the University of Texas Permian Basin. Now he’s the starting catcher for the Braves and expected to bring a power bat to Atlanta’s lineup.
He certainly did that Wednesday night. And the guy who caught the ball? He was ironically wearing a Texas A&M shirt.

I really don't keep up with baseball much these days but I have to say LSU is strong as hell this year. I think the championship is their's but its still early I guess.

Let me tell you one about somebody running out of gas that takes the cake. Many years ago a dude ran out of gas in front of my house and came up and asked if I had any to get him to the store. Well I had a couple gallons for the lawn mower so I got it and we walked down to his car and put it in. He just kept thanking me and going on and I told him no problem, don't worry about it.
He just kept insisting on paying me for the gas and I told him not to worry about it (gas was only a little over a dollar a gallon at the time and he was in an old beater of a car). Well he didn't have any money on him and started writing me a check, and I kept telling him don't worry about it, it was only 2 or 3 dollars worth of gas. Well he wrote me a check for $5, and I gave in and took it, he just kept thanking me.
Went to the bank the next week to deposit some other checks and put that one in there with them. The son of a ***** bounced. Can you believe that? Went through all that trouble to write me a bad check for 5 bucks even after I kept telling him not to worry about paying me for the gas.

No, they didn't charge me anything, but it burned my *** that he took the time and went through the trouble to write me a bad check even after telling him not to worry about paying me. It was on a closed account, why not just say "thanks, I appreciate it man" and be on your way? A Hole. I think he may have been a few bricks shy of a load.
