Not everyone does. There are the idiots that think just because they have 4wd they can go through anything and as fast as they want. Then there are the ones that just go too slow and get stuck. With some hills you need to build up some momentum to get up them. The idiots go slow then get stuck and get everyone behind them stuck.

I think the jail time is more of a threat since that would be an expense to the state. But I'm sure they will more than happy to give out tickets since that is income!

The press is really who focused on the fine/jail thing. The Governor stated he wanted people to be safe and get of the roads so that workers could start/continue clearing roads and emergency workers could focus thier efforts vs dealing with people out for a sunday drive during a major storm. one wreck or spinout stops road clearing and jambs everything up. If you are dumb enough you should get a fine. highly doubt jail unless you kept going out even after getting a ticket and ignoring the police.

Ya I understand that but it just strongly relates to how I hate the feeling of being trapped!

I guess the problem is the amount of traffic that can potentially get stuck.

I can't tell you how many times I've blazed trail through bumper deep snow in my coffee truck on 2 laners before the plows have made any pass. "Put me in jail? Eat it! I've got coffee to deliver!" lol

Cold but sunny here this week. 20's at night, low 40's at day.

Sounds like martial law to me.

No wonder Homeland keeps buying billions more bullets.

No, that definitely applies to the yankees as well. They love to come down here and tell us how they do it up north, and make sure to lecture in a tone that says "you're obviously too stupid to know how things are supposed to be done".
