So how was it?

The sex was great, but I threw up from the Hennigans.

Good thing the cleaning lady was there.

New truck drives awesome. 1,000,000 times better than his old GMC. I can actually see why people buy trucks now. There's no comparison between the two.

Anybody else watch Gold Rush? That kid Parker on there is an impressive young man. High School kid, but spends every free hour out there working in that **** to achieve a dream.

I'm watching it right now. I like his old grandpa too.

I swear, that boy and his grandpa are the spitting image of each other. I'd like to see a picture of the old man when he was Parker's age.

And I can't stand that ****ing short leg Fred. Never have liked that backstabbing SOB after he swooped in and made a backroom deal to get that place that Todd had already done all the work on.

At least it gave me an excuse to get both Mustangs out of the garage at the same time (in case something went wrong). Moved them down to the lower part of the yard in the other driveway.

nice write up Paul!

reading that says a hell of a lot about your business. I love the fact that you state it simply that you don't do the fastest, but you turn out the best. And being able to work a little at a time for a budget is cool as well.

Fred is a dirtbag. Been a dirtbag. His son seems pretty alright though.

Just skip over this if you dread my long, picture heavy diatribes (which I'm sure most of you do, I know y'all just humor me).

So, after the price the old man quoted me yesterday, I wasn't really expecting what showed up. After they called this morning and said they were coming and I got the cars out of the garage and moved to a safe place I sat outside and waited.

Next thing I knew, I heard diesels rolling up the driveway, and I was impressed. They showed up with a hell of a crew. A new bucket truck with a 75ft boom on it, another big truck with a huge chipper behind it that fed into the box on the back and it would hold 12ft sections of logs as well as the chips. Another flatbed with a big Bobcat, and an F250 pulling a big stump grinder.

And now here is where I might **** some people off, but I don't mean it the way it sounds at first. They all got out of their trucks, and not a single one of them was a Mexican. Now, I don't mean that in a racist way, but if you knew the area and what has happened around here over the last ten years you'd understand what I mean.

Normally when you contract a job like that (or any job for that matter) the owner will come out and look around and give you an estimate. Then when they show up to do the job the whole crew will be illegals that don't speak a word of English. Funny, I always hear that "they are just doing the jobs that Americans wont do". Really? Here is a company that has been doing business locally for 25 years, has nice equipment, knows what they are doing, and take pride in doing a good job. Not only that, their price was much lower than what crews that use illegals normally charge (so much for that crap about "Mexicans work harder, and for less, so it saves you money". Amazing that this group of local hillbillies (American citizens no less) are working their asses off, and are more than happy to talk to you, be friendly, and enjoy what they are doing. Hmmm, makes you wonder.

Well, enough of the stuff that will **** people off and make me a racist pariah to the liberals.

They set their trucks up and got to work right off the bat. Old boy got in the bucket and started trimming limbs, dropping them right where he wanted, and not 15 feet from my carport.

Already notched, and cut though, snapped the pic just after it cracked and right before it started to fall, all while holding my breath, that was the one that would definitely go through the house.

Now time to grind the stump down (the base of that tree ended up being over 4 feet across)

That stump grinder was so stout, that it was pushing that parked F250 a foot or more side to side as he moved it!!

I was really impressed with their work and professionalism. Great guys (the old man that did the estimate was the owner, his son was the foreman that came back with the crew to do the job), awesome job, couldn't beat the price. And best of all, the money went to a local company, guys that live here, and none of it was sent back to Mexico through Western Union.

This is all they left where the tree was.......

picked up every stick, smoothed everything out and left it in fantastic shape (in 2hrs!! from the time they pulled in to the time they left, try getting that done with a union crew!!! ). They actually did much more than they agreed to do, I didn't really expect them to do nearly as much clean up as they did, I was planning on cleaning up myself. More than pleased with the quality of the the job they did, would hire them again in a minute and will definitely recommend them to other people I know.
