Gotta break this up, can't let Joe have all the ladies to himself, lol.
Jill, I have two kids at home and it's like pulling teeth to get them to keep stuff clean! Always on them about it, need to keep them in the habit of cleaning when I get back!

Mine always had at least one chore daily that they were responsible for. Taking out the trash, sweeping, cleaning dog poo or dishes. And on Saturday add a couple more like dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the tub or toilet. That way they each knew exactly what they needed to do each day and they weren't allowed to go anywhere until they finished them.

We always figured if they knew what it took to clean it up, then maybe they would have more respect and clean up after themselves. I can't tell you haw many times I reminded them that I was not the maid. I work full time and if they know how to mess it up, they better know how to clean it up. Oh, I should also mention that they didn't get allowance for it either. Only if they volunteered to help with the extra stuff. I'm so mean
