We had one like that in the house once. They were getting in under the siding and built a nest in the drop ceiling in the basement. Not fun in the least trying to get rid of it

That's crazy stuff

We have wasps and yellow jackets and stuff but I've never seen a hornets nest like that.

I've always thought our hornets lived in the ground. I've mowed the yard and come across a nest more than once. One time I parked the mower over it and just let them get chopped up as they came out.

I sat in my truck one time, with a can of raid spraying the entry hole of a hornets nest through the sliding rear window

Hornets are always in a nest like that here, usually in a tree but occasionally like Dennis has. I have seen one or two through the years in the ground, but its rare. On the other hand, yellow jackets are always in the ground here. I've only seen one that wasn't, it was inside a friend's shed in the corner behind some boxes that had been stored for a while. It eventually got so big that it spread out around them, and the surface material of it looked just like a hornets nest, just not as well constructed and symmetrical as they are. When we tore it apart, the inside was built like a wasp nest.

Yellow jackets are usually in the ground here too. A friend of mine had some in his yard a few years ago and he poured gas down the hole and lit it on fire to get rid of them!

Nothing. Just enjoying my last peaceful day at work until my boss comes back from vacation tomorrow. Then I'll be overwhelmed, I'm sure

I hate it when bosses come back from vacations. Then the fun is gone and it is back to the ball and chains.

Till you see the velvet ants. I see 'em at work a lot around Sarasota, they're flightless wasps with a nasty sting!

And Gary, when ever you get around to lifting your Bronco, I finally made my camber bushings how-to
