glad to see you back Charlie.

I gotta be honest, I think I'm turning into Nathan, (no I'm not scared of women) but I'm actually starting to not mind the 95*+ weather like I used to. Which is good, because I freakin love the spring/fall here when it's 70 everyday, and don't even mind the winter.

I think everybody should experience the weather in the south just once. One minute it's 100 degrees and humid as the amazon, next minute it's 75 degrees and thunderstorms all around. Only an hour later the sun will come back out and heat up again

You can keep that, I'm happy with Sunny Southern California, where the weather is nice all year and we don't store are mustangs for the season.

You should try driving on sleet covered roads. 3:90 gears and almost 500 hp make it a memorable experience

That happens up here too believe it or not. Just the other day it was 97 degrees with dewpoints in the 70s, the storm moves in and in a matter of minutes its down to 70 degrees. Now I should say you guys should try living through one of our winters. -30, 2ft. of snow. Still have to go to work and school. But you probably wouldn't survive.

Everybody always thinks their weather is the worst.

Nice to hear everyone b1tch about it all the time.

It's like a bunch of old geezers up in here. I know Lee is as old as dirt, but when did the rest of you start collecting social security checks?

At my age anyone older than me has one foot in the grave.

I bet you wish that Shelby had an auto.

**** that would be old.

I think we've already dicided on this one, the South definitely has the worst weather.

Gary moans about heat, we get heat plus humidity
Nathan moans about snow, we get snow, but not enough to be prepared

What about the cold? You get negative thirty with negative fifty wind chills? Didn't think so. And our snow is nothing like that slush you call snow.

You don't have to get all pissy about it, don't say that you aren't because it screams through in your post. You might not recognize it because you are young, but what most "country" stations play today is pop music. It's one step away from lady gaga. Its manufactured bullsheet from the record companies. They know what makes money, and they are catering to that audience. The Dixie Chicks portrayed themselves as country, but we all know that they are your typical Hollywood socialists. That was made obvious by themselves.

But Aldean is really much more southern rock than country if you ask me, which is right up my alley

I'm with you nathan, I'm interested in his classifications

Welcome back!
Ever seen the movie "Pure Country" with George Straight? That sums up what I'm trying to get at very well. You can fool the audience with smoke machines, fireworks, dancers, back up singers, etc. but at the end of the day they don't know who they saw, they just enjoyed the "show". That's what country has become, just a show to impress the "fans". Nothing of substance really there, just a great production.

Continued from above.

Country radio is the largest medium on the airwaves today, therefore it offers the greatest return on investment.

Look at the people who have suddenly turned "country". Arron Lewis from Staind, Darius Rucker, Kid Rock (although I think he was always a redneck, he, like the others went where the money was when he started)

This is not country. If you want to "rap" be a rapper.

This is country..

And don't you compare this crap that is being put out today with Southern Rock. Ronnie Van Zant and Duane Allman (God bless their souls) would roll over in their graves to hear that.

This is Southern Rock..

The crap that is being put out today is NOT.

Sorry boys, I love you guys, but y'all definition of music is not what mine is.

Rock on Skydog. You are sorely missed brother.

\

Don't get me wrong, Gretchen, Jamey, etc are making good country music. But you guys need to study where the roots of it came from.

Junior Kimbrough is a fine example. You've probably heard it in the latest Porsche commercials....

This is good stuff,

Sorry boys, I think the world of you guys, but we have differing opinions on things. I just hope that y'all will open your minds and do some studying on the roots of what you praise so highly.

Don't forget tornado's we've had too many of them already this year. They're just so much more dangerous here than in the mid west, because there's too many trees, valleys, and mountains you just can't tell where they're coming from, and where they're going. I step out in my yard I can see a half mile north then trees, a quarter mile west then trees, 200 yards east them there's a tree covered ridge, and maybe a quarter mile south then trees

Just count yourself lucky that you weren't a little more North.
