Yeah, I'm not putting a Champion plug in anything I own. I really wasn't sure about what to put in it, and I wasn't too keen on giving $100 for new plugs when the ones in it only have 8k miles on them.

They changed (fixed) the heads in Dec 07 by changing the casting for the one piece plug (left).

I almost swear that after changing my plugs I think it's even more peppy ! I used the Champion # 7989 and you need a 5/8 as well a 9/16 as both plugs are differnt size's

If you guys need a jeweler, I know one here (and he's a member here as well) thats a good friend and I highly recommend him. Not sure he ships or anything but does really great custom work. Hey, he made my wifes engagement ring if that tells you anything.

What is the one on the left?
I'm not a huge fan of Champion plugs unless it's in my lawn mower (they seem to love them).

My father spent many years working for Autolite and they were in all of our race cars over the years. So I will either use those or the Brisk's both I have heard good things about.

this is for that typcal lberal mom comment:

Of course the kids on the other team won't forget. That's a lifelong memory and a great short story to tell their kids, creativity is rewarded!

And, your kid was too stupid to notice the snap, give him a bat and a glove, I think he's better suited to the more mature pace of baseball

I knew that, but I thought you were showing a newer version of my plug.

So Motorcraft doesn't make a newer version on piece plug for the early heads? That's what I would prefer to go with.

I understand that is the same plug you use to replace the carbon prone two piece used pre Dec07 (which is why I took the pic). Check the TSB for sure.
I don't think so, Ford's fix as far as I know was anti-seize. If you look closely the threads are wrong and the electrode on the "new" style plug will not go into the head far enough.

Right. I corrected that because I remembered what you just said.

But I do think someone makes a 1 piece plug for pre Dec07. Pretty sure I've read threads.

I've got to say no on the Brisk plugs.

I went with Autolite after wanting the Brisk plugs myself. They steered me away from them at Brenspeed, then they put them in 70MACH1OWNER's 05 and he had problems with them and he got them replaced with Autolites. So I would not use them at all. He wanted them because they were a one piece replacement.

How's it going Scothew? Had any taters today?
