Right hand thread the fan shroud says. The nut has "Tighten -->" stamped into it. So with it all set the way it would be if bolted to the truck, it's righty tighty. So we've been pulling left. It's on there reallllll good

I remember I had one that was left handed so it would tighten as it turned. I'm thinkin' its my '83 F150 because that's the only water pump I've replaced in the last 20 yrs. 
Maybe its worth looking up in a Chilton's or online manual.

Go to Walmart or Home Depot and get a simple one like this. Probably around $15. They come in real handy to have one around the garage. The bottles are only a couple of dollars and one will last practically forever.

I got all ten questions wrong, and I only have one attempt left. When you get one wrong, they give you a hint in english, but like that helps! They need to be more specific with this stuff!

Stupid fan clutch 
The nut is seized on a shaft that runs through the pump. As in, it turned the pulley and everything against the tension of the belt. I was cranking the engine trying to get that nut off
But I have a 180 degree thermostat to throw in, and after seeing my harmonic balancer, I think the base timing might be extremely off... more to come on that.
And no worries, this nut won't take 3 months to get off like some other people here
My bad, it's attached to this post. Along with the front of my engine sans parts and then one of the whole water pump, fan clutch and fan. Worst comes to worst I buy a new clutch and fan...

Any body else see that stupid Nissan Leaf commercial where the polar bear hugs the car owner for being good to the environment.
I was really hoping the polar bear would rip the guys head off and say I'm a polar bear you idiot.
That commercial made me die a little inside that people out there feel this way. That and this kid on TMS trying to say that a Volt will dominate the competition in SCCA races.
