I sent my census form in over a month ago, and today some scraggly looking hippie with a pony tail down to his *** pulls up in the yard and informs me that I have to answer the form again even though I already sent it in. Reluctantly I went along with it until question 3. I informed him that it is none of the government's business if my house is paid for or not. He said they would just send someone out again to ask the question, I said good luck with that.
Then the final straw. He was driving a primered piece of **** 80's Chevy van. After he left, I notice something in the driveway. Walked out there, and it had dripped 3 ****ing puddles of oil as big around as Coke cans on my pristine white concrete. Needless to say I was pissed, none of my Fords leak anything and this guys piece of **** Chevy makes 3 puddles in less than 10 minutes.
Then the final straw. He was driving a primered piece of **** 80's Chevy van. After he left, I notice something in the driveway. Then we find out about teh mentally challenged woman in Washington that was freakin' raped by one of these loser census workers. And the people in Houston that were murdered by a pretend census worker.
Its getting to the point where I'm not opening my door for anyone. Maybe even if they have a badge.

Please don't answer the door for anyone you don't know. Home invaders go to the better neighborhoods and they are looking for people alone. Get some pepper spray too for your walk to the car and to work. Please.

Overly paranoid is good. That's your spidey sense. I like overly paranoid. It's being gullible or trusting that gets a person in trouble. It's sad that we have to live this way, but we do. I really tend to keep to myself and have taught my kids the same.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing cause I saw those on the newswires. I sent mine in so they can ef off.
I'm in a rural area with a few hundred people scattered across small properties. But last summer a home invasion about a mile away at 2am and killed the guy by blunt trauma.
It is totally dark here and I don't like dusk to dawn lights. So in addition to the gate locked and the dog on the porch, I now watch tv with the .45 cocked & locked on the coffee table.
