Dropping the cards was always fun. We were all clueless to this stuff, after all, it was 1979. But there were a few that caught on, and the best part about punch cards was once someone got the program to work, you load them all back into the keypunch and press the copy button. Now we all had working copies!

The good part is a friend of mine is trying to get me into his place. The catch is they have to fire someone, and that person is digging his own grave, so that will hopefully be happening soon. The boss over there knows me too since he comes from the same place I did.

So that's about it. Today is unemployment day and it's time to stake my claim!
Hopefully you will find something soon. I can't imagine being out of work that long.

Today is my 1 year anniversary at this job. I still can't believe it's gone by this fast

I know! Finally, my benefits kick in. Now I can finally get some paid time off of work. Of course I'll need most of my days for our 2 week vacation to Hawaii in July

I was 17...

I can still remember sitting in that class with a teacher that got so excited talking about for-next loops that he foamed at the mouth!

It's one thing to have vacation time, I've got about 12 weeks outstanding.

It's another thing to even have the ability to use it.

With companies around here, it's use it or lose it! Not many places let you carry over.

Neither do we. But I make an exception fo myself. Besides I'll never use it either. But it helps to remind me that when I do take vacation I deserve it and I try to leave work at work.

My last job let me carry 80 hours over. I'm not sure about this new job. I'll have to check into it.

I fractured my left ring finger when I was 8. Smashed it in a big ole wooden door in Michigan... This doesn't feel like that though. It's just weird.
