It's all about a bit of perspective, really.
No, I don't want to do it. But if it's rare enough? And I want it bad enough? And I want it *now*?
Yep. Totally gonna do it. 'Cause I can, and I've rationalized it in my brain.
That is, I would if I were of the rare are monetary means that stuff like this would come up, anyway. Us peons forget... cash to burn is a thing, and some will burn it very well.
I wouldn't for most things.... but for one of these? I might...
But I can't so it's moot.

I was at my dealer today to get the drivers airbag recall done on my 05 and I saw a 2015 50th in the showroom in a dark blue color. Sticker was about $47k and the dealer added about $26k on to it. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I think it's going to sit in that showroom a long time.

That is why they still have them. My local dealer sold theirs for sticker and where pre bought.
Before I ordered my 2014. I really wanted a Dodge Challenger SRT8. I found several at the dealers in central Florida. a lot of them had theirs for 2 years. All colors even special editions. They finally had to sell them for 10K under cost. A few less than that. What is the saying Pig's get.....

Local dealer still has their 50th Anni, it is 15K over invoice , they have had it since they were released, I told them then they would be sitting on it a while, of course they said it would sell in a week. That was two months ago.
I think it is laughable, but like many dealers say there's a butt for every seat, now they just need to find the right A.. to fill it.

All manufactuers should be doing this to keep gouging under control.

If a person is looking for the 50th anniversary edition car for rarity, then by all means the automatic is the way to go. If ford NEVER ever has a combination of Automatic with the Track Pack, then owners of the Auto version has some money in their hand.

Is this not a redundant statement? This would be like saying Godly Christian or Unbelieving Atheist.
Yes, had I been a little more patient, I would have chosen the 50th with Automatic. Unfortunately, the banks will not finance a mystery markup on the MSRP, meaning customers would likely have to pay the markup up front, which makes these "special" cars a little harder to sell.
