50 Years Appearance Package

Last weekend I was at a car show, when I got to the section of the show that had the 2015 Mustangs I found only 1 true LE. But there were about 10 cars that had the 50 Years Appearance package. This package has a lot of the same features that an LE has (same grill, gas cap, it even has a silver dash badge). From the outside it looks a lot like an LE. When my wife was looking for LE the sales man started to show her a car that had this package. How do you LE owner feel about this package? Its kind of like Ford watered down the exclusively of the LE.
Do you think in a few years people will be buying one of these cars thinking that they are really buying an LE?

Keep in mind that it is only an appearance package. Not like the actual 1,964 true 50th Anniversary Mustangs that were produced. Those, for sure, will be more collectible. Having said that, the Anniversary package has a few cool features that may be appreciated more down the road.....

There are also 3 major differences between the actual 50th anniversary LE Mustang vs. the 50th anniversary appearance package..

1] The 50th anniversary LE is only available in 2 color choices.. Wimbledon White and Kona Blue..

The 50th anniversary appearance package is not offered in these color choices..

2] Only the 50th anniversary LE includes the PP with auto trans..

You cannot get the performance package upgrade with auto trans on the 50th anniversary appearance package..

3] The 50th anniversary LE has exclusive rear quarter glass louvered windows..

The 50th appearance package does not..

So there are your differences between the official 50th anniversary LE over the 50th anniversary appearance package

Cool

I suspect the limited number of 2015 GT350 Mustangs produced will have the 50th anniversary appearance package. Don't ya think ?

No ! They will not have 50th anniversary appearance packages on them, as the GT350 will be arriving in either mid or late Sept as a 2016MY..

My mistake ! As I didn't know Ford was going to produce a limited run of 137 units for the 2015 model year until you just brought it to my attention..

At any rate, I suppose it's possible that Ford may include these limited GT350's with the 50th anniversary appearance package, however after reading over the autoblog article there's been no confirmation from Ford about including a 50th anniversary appearance package at this time

I wouldn't think the '15 GT350's would need a 50th appearance package. Their very limited numbers alone make them true 50th anniversary cars.

It looks like they are essentially 2016's with 2015 VINs. Should make a nice collectible since so few are being built.

They'll probably have some type of special badge or tag on the dash to say it's a 50th anniversary.

They'll already have special badges or dash tags that list build model number on them

It'll probably be a combo of both like "50th anniversary | xx of 37" or something like that.

I'd imagine it will be worth a lot in the future - if you can resist driving it....something I could not do. Those production numbers are lower than some exotics.

Hi, All--

I just picked up my GT Premium with 50th Anniversary Appearance Package on Monday and it looks like Ford forgot the 50th package floor mats. I got the dealer to give me a set of the rubberized mustang mats that look pretty good, to be honest, but if for no other reason than future re-sale value, I want to have the actual mats it's supposed to come with.

So my question -- do any of you have a picture or a link to what the factory 50th anniversary appearance pack floor mats are supposed to look like? They tried to tell me that these were the exact mats, but I am pretty sure these are aftermarket and not ford OEM: http://www.cjponyparts.com/lloyd-mat...-2015/p/FM280/

Any help would be appreciated.

The mats that you linked to are aftermarket, but they are licensed by ford to use the mustang logos so they are very close to the ones that would have come with your car. Also I think not having the original floor mats would not effect your resale value at all.
