Thank you for your response. Looks as if it will take a while to go through all the CJ Pony Parts videos and articles. Ah well, no pain, no gain, right?

Removing the sound tube in my vehicle soon. Is the sound tube also the reason the cabin smells like gas? I've noticed the smell of gas at times in the cabin, sometimes strong sometimes not? Just curious.

Are you sure you're not stepping in a puddle of it when filling up? I've never had the smell of gas in my car, and my sound tube is still intact.

Removed the sound tube today. Instead of trying to unscrew the firewall 10mm bolt. I just pulled the tube out and the little plastic retainer broke leaving the bolt untouched and stayed in. Lol. Easy. Not trying to mess with removing that bolt, its a PITA to get to. Plugged the firewall and the intake tube. Sounds the same in the cab but engine bay looks cleaner.

I did the Same on Mom's 78 Cordova with a Thermoquad! It was Pre Overdrive and had like 2.47 Gears! Bogged forever! But Heh it Had Air and Ca. is Hot in the Summer So Left the 68 Cougar at Home a Time or Two! That Fine Corinthian Leather Was Cool on The Buns! Also had the Center Armrest that Folded up so my Latest Fox could sit Close! AHHHHH! But Now I'm Telling Tales!

So nobody complains I'm getting off topic I actually have a 2010 MUSTANG Sound Tube I'm gonna put on my 06 P-71 Police Interceptor! HA! It's about #1095 on my to do list!

Good Times!
K

yep, pretty sure it has been used in every year, starting with 2010

I kinda like it .... anything that would bring the sound closer to an old fashioned 4-barrel carb with the secondaries wide open, is a good thing! (but yeah, it really isn't very close, LOL)

Bert is exactly 100% spot on.. The sound tubes did indeed first begin in 2010

I used a broken 1/2 to 3/8 adapter to plug the hose. Fit pretty snug done deal and didn't cost a cent.
