I can kind of see your point if they are purchasing a car from another dealer that they could have bought from your dealer. It's kind of a different situation but still don't agree.
Goodwill for a customer that bought somewhere else?

I'm not saying we wouldn't do it for a loyal customer on a car we couldn't get them (which would be SUPER rare), but as a rule, no one likes to work for free.

I believe the original idea was to pull out on a dealer that you had already committed to buy from and then ask them to do a courtesy delivery.

They bent over backwards on all the TSBs and clutch/transmission warranty claims to make me happy. I've bought SEVEN Fords from them in the past THREE years because of the great service.

I'm not surprised.
You are a great example of the exception that I spoke of. No need to be spiteful.

Actually I would not go with the original dealer

Dang Mark, just sent you a PM before I read this thread. Sucks. Sad that you're having to go through this pain. I hope it's finally on the way to you with no more hang-ups!

Hi Jza1736,

I sent you a pm on Friday, I’m sure you received it by now. Also, emails go to a different department in Customer Service. Unless you contact me via pm, I will not receive your emails. You guys have been keeping me mighty busy, which I like. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Deysha,

Yes I received the pm. Thank you. I'm just worried, Because my dealer has yet to give me a Q build. I'm not sure why so many others have that info. Did he sell me a car because he thought he was getting 1 and didn't and now hopes to win a lottery? Or is it a 4th Q build and he doesn't want to tell me. Or he just doesn't know? Ive called a bunch of dealers and they all seem to know they're Q builds. This is very frustrating how ford is handling the info.

Hey Mark,

I understand where you’re coming from. This is why I always advise you guys that the info I provide you is always subject to change. This is beyond our control and this info can change quite a bit daily. I do thank you for your support!

I'm always nice to the reps and say thank you for any help they provide.
Jza1736, the dealers, Customer Service and I work with the same system and provide the info available at that time, but unfortunately things change. Also, it is up to the dealers discretion to advise of their allocation and quarter availability.

Vehicle assembly and delivery is a very complicated process as is, on top of the issues that can arise that will cause delays. The intent is to deliver the vehicles fast, but not at the expense of quality, not counting on shipping issues that may come up. I know we are all anxious and ready for you to get your vehicles, this is why I appreciate your time, patience and support! You guys are great!

So, what your telling me is "dealers discretion", for some reason they're not giving me this info

I'd like to know this also, since so far I'm in the same boat.

Landon/Jason, that's just really puzzling. Maybe Q1 builds were different, but my dealer knew his allocation and quarter at the same time. It just doesn't make any sense that they cannot give you a build quarter at this point. I mean it would just take a call to the zone rep and I'm assuming their rep returns their phone calls.

I know it. Any dealer I call knows how many, if any, and what quarter they are coming. The dealer knows I'm getting fed up. he went on about the vvs system and how it updates every Thursday. Duh, I learned that from TMS. I asked for my deposit back. So, he's supposedly trying to call the zone rep now. I found a dealer that has a 2nd Q allocation for Msrp and if he can't get the info by Wednesday, I'm going for it!

Me too Jason, I can't see why they don't tell. I fear I am being strung out by these guys hopng to get one they don't have. I have been told its a 2Q now, but they didn't seem very sure about it. It might be 2Q deliverd in the 3Q. I am going to inquire again here in April. If I don't get anything firm, I am gone! When I looked at #288, those guys showed me the paperwork. Great except for the 5K over MSRP gouge. Maybe FORD should just Ebay all of them, cut the dealers out. (No disrespect meant to you Good dealers out there, I just haven't been fortunate enough to find one in my search so far.)

Then I'll have to start from square one, and deal with all the ADM BS. I bet some of these dealers would ADM clean water in Japan if they could.

I imagine dealerships are hesitant to give out concrete information because they're afraid of further delays and irate customers expecting dates that may or may not be accurate.

fwiw, if it makes you guys feel any better, I did not know my Q build until I received the vehicle identification number !! I don't believe the dealer was holding out on me, I honestly feel he didn't know, and didn't want to give me false hope or information. Allocations and build quarters come from the zone level. Dealers, can however, swap allocations amongst themselves.

Mike the YB should still be available down here, it is a long hull but it has been ordered.

IFAFP90, I hope it is something like that. They don't really seem to know. That I don't understand. If that is true its a failure on Ford's part to keep em informed. I will tough it out a little longer.

Man, ebay sure is filling up with Stock Order Car for auction. Sucks to watch that when I have one ordered and can't get it yet. I am a real customer who will be driving the car. I sure would like to know if Ford has an official position on ADMs. It makes me think that I am not important to them as a customer. They just sell to the dealer, after that who cares. I don't know that I would ever try to order a car again after this. Might as well just walk in some place and buy off the lot. (If you can find one priced reasonable)

Hell, the dealer that had the one (#288) I looked at told me that if the ADM bugged me that much he would lower the price below MSRP, but I would have to finance thru him at a 22% rate. WTF is wrong with these guys.

Go ahead finance with him. Just make sure there is no pre-payment penalty. Then either pay it off early or go to your bank and refi! It's not that hard. Just a slight pain in the but

Ok guys,

The latest news… At this point I do not think allocation has much to do with this. Due to the high demand on these Mustangs, they are having some supplier issues at this time. This is why some of the dates are being moved. It is not due to the Japan paint shortage. Thank you for your support!
