Rollbars - does anyone have one yet?
no cage for mine, i want to keep use of the back seats, however, my 94 will mostlikely be going to DMC racing or tigvision, tigvision's cage was so close to the body it would hold a business card inplace..... 2500 for a 8.5 certified cage
YB will be too hard to match so it's going black. Can't go wrong with black on yellow or orange.
Prep work is almost done. I will be ready to send off for welding and powder coating tomorrow. I ended up with a net increase of 17 lbs after removing the rear seat belts and doing the rear seat delete kit. My Tiger hood is going to be 8 lbs less so I can get back to zero after pulling the fix a flat kit.

any way to design a roll bar that still lets you use the back seats normally? i'd like to have one for harnesses, but my kids are in the back seat daily.

if all you want it for is a harness i would check this out, 2 bolts to swap in and out i beleive
That said, there are plenty of racers using a conventional harness bar (as referenced) and no roll bar. Just know the risks.

The reason that there's not a single OEM car sold in the USA with a multi-point harness is that in case of a rollover, it is possible that the roof would collapse and crush your spine - as your body can no longer tilt out of the way as it can with a conventional shoulder harness.
That said, there are plenty of racers using a conventional harness bar (as referenced) and no roll bar. Just know the risks.

There was a recent photo posted of a 2012 Boss 302 that rolled and the A and B pillars held up well with minimal damage to the roof. Our cars are a lot safer in a roll over than cars from 10-20 years ago.

i like your thoughts, i def not going to buy one myself, just seamed like it fit what he was looking for, my other project car once DMC or tigvision gets done with it im sure will be as safe as anything from the factory with a cage though...... tasca has had to upgrade the super cobra jets to make them pass inspections for quicker than 8.5 seconds
i have been eyeballing this too. its DOT approved and has some sort of anti-submarine tech built in.

anyone seen this in person? I've had the misfortune of being a passenger in a roll over crash as a kid, even then with two rolls the top didn't crush. i don't think that is very likely unless you have some extreme f-up like that grabber blue gt that hit a wall and flipped **** over nose and landed on the roof, that even drove the roll bar through the floor pan and the roof caved in. still the driver walked away. wish i could find that story link

I did not want a roll bar, I wanted harnesses but not going to risk my life for them. Also being paralyzed does not sound like a good plan. The Bosses in the pictures rolled on the street, not at the track going 80, 100 or 150 MPH.
I sure we can find one story here and there of someone that was killed because they had a seat belt on but at the same time we will find thousands and thousands of stories about the people that did not die wearing them. I think roll bars would be the same.

It might just be the angle of the pictures but is the harness bar a little low?
I'm using the NASA CCR as a guide.

6. The shoulder harness shall be mounted behind the driver and above a line drawn downward from the shoulder point at an angle of no more than twenty (20) degrees with the horizontal.
I know you're not going wheel-to-wheel, but you special ordered your four point with a removable harness bar did they ask for dimensions when you ordered?

How did/are you going to attached the Lap Belts / Anti Submarine straps?

And because the seats in the Boss recline and could break in an impact have you looked at a seat back brace?
It would suck being forced under the harness bar........
Or just buy an FIA appoved one peice seat.....

No special order for the bar, they have the S197 bar in four point with and without removable harness bar. I got the removable and Cloud9 got a fixed bar (posted at BMO).
The lap belts are in the stock seat belt mounting points. The crotch straps are in the two rear seat track bolts. These are subject to change since the eye bolts that came with the belts did not work. After this weekend I may do some thinking on different attachment points.
