Gary,
Looks great! Let me know when you have time to drive up and do my floor.

You could most likely get a portable lift to work in your garage. They only lift about 40ish inches, but you can roll the posts into the corner between track days.

Would make that suspension workover so much easier.

The floor? Sure. The painting?

Talking

Hey guys first post here. I have my eyes set on a 2013 BOSS 302.
While I was at the local dealer they have a Race Red and White 302 on the showroom floor they still need to move. Not sure what # it is.
They have a 13' GTHIG on the way to the dealership that I am going to check out when it arrives. Here are some pics of the 12 BOSS.

Any more news/rumours about this? I guess a spercharged Boss goes against history and it'd be a lot of work (I assume) to produce a normally aspirated 5.8 for just one year (that also assumes it wouldn't find its way in the next-gen '15MY)

Either way, a Boss 351 would be very welcome.

That's kind of how Ford did the '03-'04 MACH I. It had a N/A AL block version of the 32-valve 4.6L. I could see Ford doing that.

i know this isnt the exact place (thread wise) but i read that the boss has the same rear exhaust as the mustang gt. i ordered 5/8" plates from scott and i was looking at the borla sport axlebacks for the boss....would there be any problems with the back pressure or the sound coming from the side exhaust or the rear? sorry not a tech guy here.

Ford Racing fathead on the wall. Now the wife says we need a Boss 302, a pony and a Cobra for the other walls. Guess I'll be contacting Bob White decals again

You'll be fine with that set up.

Got my Curt weight distribution hitch setup today. Got lucky in that the head tilt I started with was just right. Spent about an hour measuring tongue weight at various car fore/aft positions since my '02 Dakota is rated for 750 lb max tongue weight. Got lots of marks now at 2" intervals so I know what the weight is.
Took my time loading the Boss to make sure I didn't do anything stupid.

Are the "plates" everyone is referring to something you add to block the side exhaust?
If so, what is the benefit in doing that? Increased back pressure?
Are the side exhaust open from the factory, or does the customer have to do anything to open them?
Where do the "plates" install at? Location point on the exhaust system that is?

Wait til next weekend when I put the Enkei's on, and load it up again for a road test. I think the pic will look very familiar.

Factory exhaust plate I think is a 1/2 hole" One of the TMS members makes larger plates if you want them. His name is Scott

When Hameedi was interviewed he was asked if there would be other applications for the 5.8 and he said no just the GT500.

Also, think about it - the NA DOHC 5.4 in the 2000 Cobra R made 385 hp. Extrapolate that to a 5.8 and you get 413.5 hp. Even if the Cobra R was underrated, it's still doubtful that an NA version of the 5.8 in the GT500 could make more than the current Boss 5.0. They would need to adapt the Ti-VCT to the 5.8, improve the heads, come up with a new intake manifold, etc. etc. and it wouldn't be worth it for a 1 year run.

The more likely outcome is that 2014 will be a pretty boring year for changes. The V6, GT and GT500 will just carry over from 2013 and there won't be a Boss. It's just a bridge year until the redesigned 2015 is rolled out.

Thanks Jerry

The discs are actually 5/16 opening from the factory. Many people like to take the discs out and run wide open. Others, like myself, did not like the sound without any exhaust disc in place or it was too loud for the owner or neighborhood where they live. I think most agree the factory discs are too small.

The different sizes add a unique sound to the Boss, or as I say they tune the sound to your personal liking. Check out the thread Jerry posted and feel free to ask me any questions.

one quick question if I may. If you change to a 1/2 or 3/4 per say, like I am thinking about getting some, is there any kind of "drone" at all with any of the plates?

No drones reported. Scott makes a well built product. Remember.....it's all about what sound you want your Boss to have. I live in the sticks on a farm, and run Roush axel backs and wide open side exhaust.
This would be to loud if I had neighbors close by...
Goats / Chickens / Horses don't seem to mind the growl of the Roadrunner

Or you can spend more money and get the electric exhaust cutouts from QTP.
