Boss Second Quarter Allocations
Q2's before Q1's....sigh
funny how people with Q2 cars are going to get deliveries before some of the Q1 cars. I have a 'Q1' build that isn't being produced until the week of May 9.
Harold Zeigler in Elkhart they were the closest. Had heard that Oliver Ford in Plymouth might have also gotten an allocation.
My 'Q1' build is week of may 9th too. I'll believe it exists when it is in my driveway! Hopefully our cars are the first ones down the line on monday morning. With my luck it won't start until friday afternoon!!

I think alot has to do with when the Dealer placed the order. My Dealer had a Q2 allocation. The order was placed in feburary. You have to find out when your dealer summited the order. The Dealer may of sat on it for some time. Remember....the Dealer is working for you. You contribute to his pay check. Demand to see when your order was placed.

I guess that's a lesson for those still looking, any sized dealer could have one.

Then please explain how second quater cars are being built before first quater cars. That would mean that Ford would not build a second quater car untill all first quater numbers are filled. I don't understand it! Please help the first quater buyers understand why they have not recived there cars or even some vin #'s. If the dealers are not a part of this then who?

Reasons why Q1 cars haven't been serialized yet:
1. The dealer has incorrect information and the car isn't a Q1 allocation. There has been a lot of confusion about allocations and there are many dealers and buyers that don't know when their allocation is. Just because you placed a deposit last November (like me) doesn't mean you have a first quarter allocation. This is the most likely scenario.
2. The car has been serialized but the information hasn't been released or the dealer is not on top of the order.
3. The allocation and build date have NOTHING to do when the order was placed. NOTHING.
4. See #1.
There are lots of Boss cars in the pipeline. Of the 1,000 Q1 cars (that's an assumption on the number) over half have been delivered to buyers or dealers. Ford makes over 1,000 Mustangs a week and could get caught up quickly if they have the parts.

So it's the dealers fault for not letting the buyers know what quater they have. There is no way that the dealer should not know what allocation they have. A crack dealer can give you better information on his product then some of these so called car dealers. When I purchased my boss it was 2/5/11 and I was told up front that my dealer DANA FORD had two Q2 builds and one Q3 and one LS. They also hand wrote on my purchase agreement (delivery no later then 7/11). When I questioned this they told me that because it's a Q2 build they just want to cover themselves. They also told me that I should receive it sooner. Well, my boss is waiting shipment as of 4/21/11 and delivery is set for May 9. If I get that call on May 9 I'll tip my hat to DANA FORD for being up front with me. Thanks
5 DOT 0 for the answers to all of those poor people that THINK they have a Q1 build.

Easy. Another member put down a deposit about the same time I did for a fourth quarter allocation. That's the only allocation his local dealer had.

My dealer:
1) can't tell me how many allocations he has "3 or 4" he says

2) has no idea what quarter my car will be built "8 - 12 weeks" I'm told.

3) can't get me a DORA "order is in processing" 4 weeks after placement!

Sadly, when I called FCS and was then transferred to the CRC, all they could tell me was "order is still being processed" and to call my dealer.
I told them the dealer doesn't understand the process and could they help me. They apologized and told me there's nothing more they can do.
Boss-man, it is frustrating that some dealers know the "system" while others do not. I understand your pain and frustration. Everything 5 dot o has told you is absolutely correct.
I believe you are placing too much reliance on a 1Q meaning the car will actually be produced in the Jan 1 - March 31 time frame. In a perfect world, maybe, but there have been production slips, material holds, etc. Q1 cars are still being built and delivered here in May. The dealers cannot help or forsee this, nor can Ford scheduling. It happens, and owners wanting to get their cars become irritated (with justification).
Ford is (really) trying to ramp up Boss production and as one commenter pointed out at nearly 1000 unit Mustangs per day (if that is in fact accurate) they have the wherewithall to get back on quarterly delivery track. And again they are trying to do just that.
The car will be awesome and worth the wait. Try to be patient. Try to be understanding. Work with the dealer as best you can and Ford Customer Service.

). My actual concern is that my dealer has NO allocations and doesn't know it. I can only sell my T-Bucket in the spring (now) here - would you sell a one-of-a-kind T-Bucket not knowing 100% that you're getting the car you ordered? That's where I'm at now.

One boss man to another, I would then wait till the 2013 come out. Or try to locate a dealer that knows he has one. I know the dealer in NJ...DANA FORD will have a Q3 allocation. Call DANA FORD # 1-800-675-1632 and ask for Anthony G. Anthony is the Mustang specialest. Tell him the guy who bought the yellow blaze boss sent you, If your interested. Good Luck and hang in there!!
I'm not even ready to receive the car yet as I need to sell another one to make room for it (anybody in the market for a T-bucket?

Just found out my Baby Yellow Blaze Boss was born on 4/21/11 and is now being delivered by the rail road stork. It was spoted over in Ohio and scheduled to be delivered on Friday the 13"th in New Jersey. Hopefully it will be a day of GOOD LUCK for me. This is a Q2 build car. I feel like a proud father waiting to hold your new born BOSS.............YEA!!!
