Still working on photos.... Put about 80 miles on it on the way home from dealer. I will say that it's by far more than I ever thought. After giving everyone in the family a ride, My wife and I went for Pizza last night and now had about 100 miles on her. On the way home we came to a 4 way stop. I told her to hang on to the pizza. She asked why? I crossed the intersection and bringing the car up to about 2500 RPM's and nailed it and shifted at 6000 to second and backed off at about 6000 in second. At that moment I felt high. I looked at my wife and she looked scared . To anyone waiting for this car...........IT'S WELL WORTH THE WAIT. Do what ever you have to do to survive. This morning I made two set of discs and I am running a 5/8 hole and the sound is nice. What I really enjoy is watching people take a doubble take when they see or hear the car comming. The Boss is Back better that ever. Boss# 478 is alive and well.

 

Thanks for the report...um, boss man! These vicarious nuggets will get us "waiters" through the long days of Summer. Look forward to some photos.

I'm pulling for you man. I'd hate to have to let you drive mine to Laguna that day... Of course I don't have mine yet but since it's built it has a good chance I think.

McGuires has a parade lap event before the race and I'd love to have so I can take a parade lap around LS.

 

Yeah but they will probably kick you out of the event after the pedal gets the better of you and you start passing people

just so you know, from here time slows down 10 fold, after build day another ten fold. Once it is on the train one minute of time seems like a year. Once you drive it you can not even remember the wait

 

Oh great. It's been six months to the day that I placed a deposit on a Boss. I sure hope it doesn't take six more months to get here. I'll be happy with 6-8 weeks.

 

Dealer has just told me status has changed to "locked", and that the VIN will be assigned within a few days. Hope that means good things!

 

From what I read and see. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks from build date to delivery without any unforseen delays. my car was built on 4/12/11 and I took delivery on 5/12/11. One month to the day. Think positive , at this point the car now exist on paper. On June 6 it will start it's way down the line with your name on it. As others have stated.....when it hits the Transit stage, every day will feel like a week. But when that call comes through and you see it for the very first time and get behind the wheel.

I have not heard of the locked status but the VIN's are assigned on Thursdays so send Deysha a PM @ FordCustomerService with your dealer and order number and she will check for you. Good luck.

Great News on Friday. Deysha sent me info on my order. Scheduled Build week of June 6, No ETA, but I have my VIN now. She really made my day. I'd like to give a shout out to Deysha, thanks for putting up with all the info requests. Great job!

Now if I can just get into the plant to see it get built.
