I'll take the under, it will be available before Thanksgiving and I wouldn't be surprised if it's available the day of the announcement. But hey I'm an optimist.

I don't think Deysha was saying that his car would not be able to get trackey at all, I think she is saying that the overseas dealers will not be able to program the trackey since the cars intended for overseas sales will not have the ability to get trackey. Once he gets back to the states, a dealer here will be able to install the software.

 

I think he'll be able to get the tune installed from a dealer in the US or Canada but I don't think there were any Bosses made for sale outside those two countries. So there were none built that were intended for sale overseas.

 

I don't understand why they have to wait for a National Event? It's not like the Nation has been holding it's breath and waiting for this. The only ones who care are those who own a Boss.

Agree with the other owners that its a shame to wait for a second official announcement, I thought the first official announcement was months ago with the launch of the trackey website.

 

Have I mentioned 18,000 KM's without Trackey. They should dish em out to those who've driven the most without it first. ;-)

 

17km and no Trackey yet. LOL. Top that.

I just want to weigh in here and say 'Thanks for sharing the good news on the TracKey relaese being announced Nov. 2nd'!
My Boss will be hangared by then, but I'm happy that the TracKey program has been approved and will be available!!!
This whole thing could have taken an ugly turn,... but it didn't, so personally, I'm greatful!
Now I've got something new to look forward to playing with next summer,... and a good excuse to hit the track again. Bonus!

Exactly my understanding, but I would imagine sometime early next year there will be another company that will be able to provide the same tune, or maybe the few of us in Europe will be able to get it done at a dealer here. Either way she is about to be in the garage for the winter! BTW, had her up to right around 160MPH last night, guess it's not limited to 155MPH.

 

Just send the key to the states to a family member, load the tune and send it back !

 

I think the tune is loaded into the ECM. The red key activates that tune on startup.

 

Once again, Ford's hands were tied once CARB got it. Yes, there are things Ford could have done to help but largely it was CARB and I don't understand why people still fail to see that. Just be happy we actually have some news and it's GOOD.

 

So today is the day the '65 Fastback goes away for the winter. The Boss should be joining it but I'm hoping for Trackey before it goes away. Anyway, nice day for the 90 KM drive. Anyone else putting their cars, Boss or otherwise away this weekend?
