How long after CARB approval will we be able to take our cars to the dealership to get Trackey enabled?
You're welcome, Dig-It Racing! Thank you for the kind words. I don't have set dates, but it should not be that much longer after it's approved. I'll get all the details soon.

I might believe that if your posts were actually funny.

With this Boss crowd, there will always be something.

I have also been pm'ed by Boss owners to stir things up because it was getting boring.

We can talk about TK not automatically making us the track gods that we all expected.

I'll vouch for 11SHELBYGT500 and Alscobra that I find them funny. And they can both take as well as they give. We have TracKey, they have heat soak. All of the ribbing is in good fun. The Biss is the new kid on the block, we are bound to get bullied. When the next gen Mustang comes out we can pick on them.

And have some sympathy for 11SHELBYGT500, he needs some friends. How would you like it if you found out that Adolf Hitler hates you?

For me I will be happy with the lopey idle it gives. Anything more than that is a plus. However I do think that it will be noticeable on the track. That is what it is designed for...

The GT500 actually comes with two track keys, a black one and a black one.

I kidd, I do think the Red key is unique and cool thing Ford made.

I would be happy not going into limp mode for P0300 codes. It can be dangerous, went limp mode on turn 16 at Sebring with three cars right behind me. I was able to over to the right on the wide straight away before anyone found my rear end. Then (admittedly my stupid fault) went into limp mode at PBIR, stayed in the gas around a turn so the whole field did not pass me, it came back on full mode at the exit and I almost spun the car.

They weigh more than normal keys though

The black keys are nose heavy. Not as balanced as the red ones.

That may be a very true statement. Gotta give it to the Boss. Probably the best balanced mustang ever produced. I haven't owned a stang that wasn't nose heavy. But I am so used to the stang being nose heavy that the newer ones and the boss just doesn't feel right. The thrill of almost loosing your ride is pretty damm exciting.

So when it gets here, you get it programmed; where are you going to use it?

Will there be a disclaimer that you sign saying you won't use it on the highway and only for street use?

If you are a daily driver Boss owner, will you still get it programmed?

Sounds like it decrease fuel efficiency so probably doesn't make sense to use it for just tooling around. Have to think it would be pretty neat rolling into car shows/cruise-ins with the lopey idle.

I think it will be a fairly even split between those who get it for track use and those who get it just for the novelty of the lopey idle. I plan to use it for both, but as my first track session is this Sunday, I think I will still be too much of a novice by the time it is release to appreciate any performance gain.
I wonder how many will be really disappointed if they remove the lopey idle feature as they didn't really want it the performance changes?

In my opinion I think most anyone daily driving will just use their black keys.

The weekend cruise guys or track guys will pretty much use the red key the whole time.

Much will depend on how TK affects normal driving. If it chugs or lurches then obviously people will use the black key. But if it's just a matter of increased fuel use than I think the red key will see a great deal of daily use.
