I was told by a salesman of Chevy at the Philadelphia auto show the Chevy SS will be a limited production car. I'm not talking about making it a handling beast but make it performance oriented in a straight line and that sucker would sell.
I say go all out; performance, handling, different (cooler) styling, kinda like the m3 of ford.

I was thinking more like 28 to 37k depending on options.

Exactly, but more affordable to the average family. Maybe around 32 for nicely equipped one..

Saw both the coupe and convertible at the Canadian International Auto Show today....

A couple of observations...

This car is LOW.. not neccessarily in terms of ground clearance, but one could accuse the 2005-2014s of being "big" cars... the roof has to be at least 2-3 inches lower. As a result, it also makes the car seem much smaller -- especially the coupe.

Overall though, I just wasn't that impressed, the only thing that screams mustang is the badge in front, and it seems like badge has actually gotten bigger versus previous incarnations.

Oh yeah. Totally agree with you. The Chevy SS is priced way too high.

Between Chevrolet and the Dodge Charger there is a fair amount of competition in that area. Dodge doesn't put the biggest engine in the Charger, but it is 370HP. There are quite a few models with different "looks" options.....and it doesn't look like a Fusion

The tail lights and the fastback (best on a Mustang since the original IMO) don't scream Mustang to you?

It didn't capture me like the 11-12 did, when I didn't own a mustang. I saw the 12 and I loved it so much that I had to have it. The 15, no thanks. If I didn't own a mustang now, I wouldn't get a 15... Just because it doesn't appeal to me. Biased? Oh probably... But on the same token, looks are always opinion based. No right answer. I just don't care for the 15. Period.
I am not a huge fan of the headlights but I think the 2015 will be and is superior to the previous models, in all aspects! There will always be things we will not like about cars but we are only human, tough to satisfy! I am a huge fan of the 13-14 GT, one of the best models produced looks and performance wise. I am not a big fan of the looks of the 11-12 GT, although it still does have the 5.0. Just opinions like you said, IMO this 2015 mustang will make the 13-14 GT look dated.

With the right color car, those wheel colors would work. Not on silver. Only black wheels will do on silver. Those orange wheels would look amazing with the Deep impact blue or Black. Those

I want those white wheels for my Kona Blue. Wow, they look amazing. I'm in love

They do, but when you see the car in person... the fastback just doesn't really draw your eye to it. It's almost as if you have to search for the right angle to look at the car at to apperciate the homage to the 67.

Ford can be accused of trying to rip off Aston Martin with some of the designs for their cars these days (not specifically the mustang)... it's almost as though the fastback roof reminds me of an Aston moreso than the Mustang. Maybe it's the lack of B pillar?

THANK YOU! I just Do Not Get It... Even (Especially) with the Pictures Side By Side I Do Not See a Fusion Coupe. People are So Fixated on the Upper Grill Shape and the Wrap Around Headlights that They Can't See How DIFFERENT They Are from the Fusion. All I See when I look at the 2015 Mustang is MUSTANG. Sure there is a Dash of Aston Martin In there but to be Completely Honest this Isn't the First Time the Mustang has Looked Like an Aston Martin...

But then again the Design of the 1970's Aston Martins were inspired by the 1969 Mustang...

THIS Is What I See when I look at a 2015 Mustang .

With the Hood Sculpture and Quarter Windows from the 94-98's

And the Headlights from the 99-04's, just flipped & reversed...

There certainly isn't anything wrong with liking the looks of the new Mustang The Fusion is the best selling car from FORD. I'm not surprised that they think a "coupe version" - called a Mustang - will sell well! And, that's the name of the business. I just don't like a "homogenized" looking car, and yes, that includes some of the 1990's Mustangs. I really don't see the 2015 headlights as "Muscle car looking." More "girly car looking" - I guess European. There are lots of "European looking" cars with the "cutsey headlights" these days. So I hope they sell really well...to raise the price of my FORD stock. But I'll be looking at the Dodge Challenger SRT8 when I decide to sell my 2013 GT convertible......unless the SVT guys bring out an "iconic looking" Mustang.
