If i coulda put my feelings to words, THIS would be it. Want it to be a home run for ford, but just not feeling it at all. The 'if it didnt have a mustang logo' sums it up well for me, just a little too similar to other models, think its a first for the mustang, and mighta been a risky decision on fords part. Time will tell.
Cant wait to see one in person, hopefully at the clevelnd auto show in a month or two

I was on the fence but the car has grown on me. There are still some things I don't like, but that is true of every car I have ever wanted not just Mustangs. Overall I think Ford nailed it. I could simplify the busy front end myself I suppose, and learn to live with the busy centre stack, but I am now totally in love with the rear, the part of the car I once hated. Seeing it beside a current car and it's ridiculously tall rear sold me on that. Personally, I suspect the "want" to increase when I see it in person in Detroit.

There should also be a "I liked it right from the get go" way to vote where I'm at, so I had to vote on the "fence love it". I think many of you will change your minds, especially after you see it in person and/or when your friends who bought one are showing nothing but tail lights to the competition. This car in Silver with a Eco Boost 5.0....ZR1's/ZL1's in the dust!!

I spoke with a friend of mine over the weekend. He's saving up for a new 2014 Mustang GT convertible. He is hoping the 2015 is a big hit so Ford will really be discounting the 2014s.

Well this wasn't a general poll (the main site here has one on front page), this was "for those who hated or were on the fence. See subject title.

I liked it from the get-go as well, so I didn't get a vote either.

Initial Impression from Pics Only...

Like many who have been waiting and visualizing thru renderings, etc...the instant visual appeal wasn't quite there the instant I saw the 1st pics...but I think allot of the renderings that have floated over time did much to influence my expectations because some of the renderings towards the end were packing a dramatic punch. That 'pre-planted' dramatic punch isn't quite the same as what was delivered. I have since warmed up a bit, only because I am really looking ahead for the higher end variants and fairly certain performance-wise are going to set a new standard, and hopefully some new functional body and trim detail to bring in more of the 'punch' I was initially hoping for. The new Corvette was an instant hit to me when I cast my eyes of that one...I said 'whoa'. The new Mustang...I find myself having to 'study' it more to adapt to it's new look.

Cool

Yes, the new Mustang design is more sophisticated than a car like the Fox Mustang. The new Mustang is more like a sophisticated painting, the more you look at it, the more you appreciate it and find the design more enduring.

Collaborating Thoughts...

You may be right with the tail end of your comment. Time will tell and seeing a 1st hand example could do allot. Ford hasn't shown all their cards yet with this redesign, so there is more to look forward to that for now remains hidden from us.

The horse has been slaughtered!

The 2015 has been stripped of the brawny and distinct features unique to its muscle pony car heritage. The horse has been slaughtered! It has been rendered into a sports car.
Farewell good and faithful companion.

I wasn't really on the fence about it. I was more afraid Ford would totally ruin it like they did, in my opinion, the Fusion. I'm not much of a fan of the whole Aston Martin type front end that Ford has gone to these days. But, all in all, I'm ok with the new Stang. And really looking fwd to seeing it in person. Ford HAD to change it up. When sales of that big, ugly boat called the Camaro are beating you, you gotta change.

I'm still on the fence. I'll be there until I can see one in person, sit in it and take it for a test drive. I can't make an informed decision until I do those things. I do have one question based on the press releases. What is a "global" car ? As far as I know the Mustang is a world car to automobile enthusiasts, is there a country that doesn't have a Mustang club ? I hope it doesn't mean "like the others".

What it means is.. The Mustang will also be sold globally in Europe, Australia and parts of Asia, but will still remain all Mustang and all American..

Ford's purpose is to expand sales outside of North America to appeal and attract a much wider range of potential new customers..

Farewell good and faithful companion.
Or perhaps returned to its original trim, sophisticated idiom, circa 1965, while retaining signature Mustang design elements. It has been re-rendered back into the sport coupe it was originally envisioned as, salvaging it from its later descent into a steroidal, clumsy muscle car.

Welcome back good and faithful companion.

I agree there should have been a "I liked it from day one". I have been around long enough to see the real mistake in mustang history. The Mustang II. Any Mustang that has 400+ horses from the factory is ok in my book. Trust me, if you don't like it, it will grow on you eventually.

To me, it really comes down to one word.... bleh.

With the exception of the rear, the car just doesn't scream Mustang. It's almost like you could take any import manufacturers badge, put it right in the middle there, and call it their performance car.

From an interior standpoint, obviously having all of the electronic wizardry associated with a 2015 vehicle is good, but a Mustang is supposed to be about a much more pure driving experience. Get into the car, turn the key (or push the button), throw it into 1st, and go. I wish they would've found a way to pack all of those gadgets into less buttons / clutter, and with a smaller screen.

I agree with your comment about the Mustang II. I was heading up a steep hill outside Rainier, Oregon in my company issued 4 cylinder Mustang II with the pedal to the floor and a VW Bug passed me!

Well I liked the 2015 so much that I went and ordered a 2014 while I still could!
I love classic mustangs and that's part of what pulled me towards the 2014, i love the styling. When I saw the 2015 it made up my mind to go get a 2014!

You didn't include in your poll "hated it at first, now hate it even more".

There is just something so generic about this Mustang...from the minute I saw the first picture I thought "wow that's really it,darn".

For me a Mustang always got my heart racing, had that feeling in my stomach of something I would lust after. This one just doesn't do anything for me.

So now weeks latter I was hoping it might be something that would grow on me,that maybe my heart was playing tricks on me and that my lifetime love affair with the Mustang would bring me to my senses.

However the more pictures I see the more my disappointment grows.I so didn't want just another infiniti g35 coupe,or another hyundai genesis. Why do I have to settle for a honda accord coupe? I want a frigging Mustang! I want a car that screams America! I want to look at pictures and have that same feeling as when you had your first kiss!

Will I still support Mustang, heck yes! But will I look at it with unbridled love...NOPE!
