Rumoured power outputs for '15

Probably get crucified for saying this. But isn't 430HP enough? It's getting to the point that the power isn't even usable unless on a track. And in that case I'd be modding the car anyways.
I say keep the horsepower around where it is in the GT. Focus on efficiency, weight, and driving dynamics. The second one being the new horsepower war.
Plus, efficiency is what's gonna keep the mustang around for the foreseeable future. Not more and more HP. Government standards are a *****.

However, I think the sound of a flat plane crank 8000 rmp nearly 600hp v8 would sound AAAAMMMAAAAZZZIIIINNNNGGG!

I love horsepower. It's a lot like money or *****. A little bit more, is almost always awesome. That said, 430 is a lot of hp. Added to that rumors of a loss of weight between 200 & 400 pounds..... sounds like a recipe for lots of fun.

It may be that way for now. But I would bet a lot more people are going to be looking at the EPA numbers going forward. A change in what the customer base wants.

You could complain about the numbers of the M3 with a small engine and low torque but it proves consistency in torque puts out good power and obviously performance to back it up. Horsepower is not the number I'm interested in.
The coyote is an amazing engine. No gain in hp wouldn't bother me any.

Spoken like a man who has never had the good fortune to stumble on a 105# woman with astoundly perky 34dd AU NATURAL (Life has been good), Or perhaps a 500+ hp car with world class suspension tuning. Either can be too much to handle, but don't you really have to try. Dontcha????

The point bob is trying to make is that It's more a marketing tool. I don't really care about Hp as long as it's within a given range for a certain weight and the torque curve is solid. Torque numbers sell me. Low or high, consistency is key.

I wish they would set the tourqe higher in the sixxers to, and i know they can pull out more hp. I mean look at the 350Z/Infiniti gcoupes, they make a pretty solid number and are plenty quick too. At least gives us 3.55 or even 3.73 gear options too!

2014 V6 mustang 305 hp, 280 ft/lbs
Why would you want to lose tq? 370Z makes power at higher rpm and sounds bad at high rpm. Curb weight is listed at 3250 compared to 3500 for the mustang.

Yeah but to match the VQ, they would prob have to sacrifice torque to get the 30 hp by going higher rpm...hopefully the rumors of weight loss will be true and can go with a higher gear ratio to make the car feel like it has more torque and keep the mpg. But I think people will be better served getting the ecoBoost 4 if they want more torque.
