Front fascia caught uncovered during testing 8/20
At this point we don't know what trim levels will have for basic details. Without seeing more variations, it's hard to determine. I would guess the one spied at the track is a higher level GT. With the wheels, covered hood vents, and benchmarking against a Boss 302S, I don't think they'd do that with a base model.

Sorry I didn't state it correctly. I meant from the rear I don't see the differences until I get closer. The fog lights are a big giveaway. However I've seen a lot of GTs with the fog lights removed. I remember reading some posts awhe back that some people wished their was more of a differentiation. Just curious of what the differences would be. If they would make them more apart or the way it is now with subtle differences. And by the way I can only see the good vents if you're close enough.
Now that I've had a few days to process this here are my "new" thoughts.
1) Homogeneous (a word someone used to describe Fords use of similar styling cues for its cars) and Iconic (a word generally used to describe the Mustang) cannot exist as a description of the same car.
2) It's not an ugly car design. It is also not a Mustang. AT...... ALL. Ford can call it what they want and stick all the pony emblems and lettering they want.
3) I now want to trade in my 2011 for a 2014 since that will be the last year the Mustang looks like a Mustang.
4) I really like the look of the Fusion and if this was a Fusion Coupe I would be totally fine with that.
5) I looked through my Ford magazine and noticed that one of the Fusion models comes as an All wheel drive. That might just be a game changer if they decide to possibly make the Mustang all wheel drive as well. Then and only then would I change my opinion which I have every right to do. Thank you very much!

This is what I have been saying all along. Also when I look at the rendering thread people have made it look a bit better. But if you render the fusion a bit the same way you get no matter how you slice it the same front. Not bad but disappointing after all the cloak and dagger and waiting.. I am happy I have my 13 and I was not looking to purchase a 15 maybe a 16 or 17 we will see. If this is truly the final look of the S550 I may wait to see what the Lincoln coupe may look like. I want to stay with FoMoCo because I like their products again we will see.

2. People (including Mustang enthusiasts) said the same thing EVERY time the Mustang was redesigned. ...The 87 is too European...The 94 is too soft...The 2005 looks like a BMW...
3. I have always disliked the changes they made to the body of the 10-12 Mustang (especially the rear). Ford fixed everything that I didn't like with the '13. Go get one, no one will fault you for upgrading.
4. I absolutely LOVE the new Fusion. It is the best looking 4-door car in the world right now. Ford nailed it.
5. There's no way Ford is going to make an all-wheel-drive Mustang. They haven't in 49 years. Why would they start now?

At the end of the day a "Mustang" is whatever Ford decides it needs to be and look like. Don't like it buy something else then. Ford job is to make car that will sell not trying to make old guys live their childhood memories. Trying to please the old crowd and not moving forward is one the major reason Jaguar and Saab got into trouble in the first place (remember how long the old Jaguar XJ stayed with the shape and look). Like the late Jobs used to say "Our core philosophy is to never fear cannibalization. If we don’t do it, someone else will"
