Yea just looked at it closer, the c-pillar is too far back to be a stang. I only glanced at it earlier

In my view the Mustangs have grown too big and heavy and have strayed too much from the initial concept. My feelings wouldn't be hurt if Ford took a step back and decided to return the Mustang to its roots.

True , the Mustang was a deviation away from the Muscle cars that had Big Blocks and were huge vehicles. Like the Fairlane, the 300 F and the Fury. Mustang didn't break the mold it smashed , stepped on it and step it off of a cliff.
So like it or not Maybe one of the defining aspects of the Mustang IS to change the game.

Maybe Ford has been hinting on the next side window design for a while now

I don't believe it would look like that. They made it sound like it's gonna be a total new image, not something similar.
They mentioned that the retro current design was done?

Doesn't look like it had lost any weight in that picture, which is why I would doubt that design

I agree. I think that if Ford was keeping the same chassis and doing another refresh this would be the direction they would go.

Given that they are going with a new chassis and the fact that they are moving away from the retro design I just cant see this as the next mustang.

He shouldn't be weary of the fact he pretty much started the "retro" design phase......almost without exception (MINI, Fiat 500, Mustang, Challenger, Camaro etc) are ALL great looking cars. Cars with character in their design, not bland white goods that require you to look at the badge to know what it is.

BUT, if the retro Mustang is dead, I'm still praying Ford have dusted off Kyle's design. Every time I fire up my laptop, I open my Photobucket account and drool. I am sooooooo in love with this one (in fact, graft a version of the snout, below, on this one, and I'd call it perfect!)

What this one would have made is a supeb 2013/14 Mustang. Whilst I love the GT500-alike looks of the car we have, it would have been nice for the V6 and GT to be rather different in the looks department.

I have read this several places as well. Although I really like the idea of keeping it retro, I don't think that's the way of the Mustang's future. SO cool rendering, but not putting my bets on it at all.

I agree. I actually really like that render but I think it looks more like a refresh rather than an all new car.

That blue car might sell ok with mustang faithful...but i can't see it creating much buzz (ya i hate that word also) with new younger buyers that ford needs to keep mustang going for another 50 years...

That looks really nice but it also looks a lot like the 2010-2012. I think that's why a lot of people here like it. I'm thinking that after 10 years(2005-2014) with the same basic design that Ford will do something completely new.

I almost wish they wouldn't. IMO, after being close, but always missing "something" with 05-13, that thing has "it", "all of it", actually.

Every time I look at it, the more and more I'm blown away. Awesome, just awesome.

Gawd here we go again with someone changing a shape here and there on a photo of a 10-12 car. That might work if they were doing another minor refresh but nothing here says all new.
