Yeah, not a fan either. While I too hope the "round" headlights continue on with the S550, this is taking it too far.

I prefer the Mustang to have a business-like "glare" (like the pre-'70 Mustangs and the pre-refreshed S197), and not a scowl (like the refreshed S197) and not squinty eyed like most people seem to like in a lot of the S550 concept art posted here.

I think it's going to be really hard to keep that round headlight look.

Importish, yes. Looks like something from the Kia or Hyundai "performance" division.

It dosn't look like a muscle car to me anymore. I guess we're getting old because Ford said they wanted to go after the younger millennial generation.

Well, the Mustang is not necessarily a muscle car to begin with so that's not really an issue for me.

Anyway, I don't think it'd be hard for the S550 to have round headlights but I'd be surprised if it did...

People just need to stop talking out of their butts about the next Mustang and just wait for the real thing...

It's an American Pony car. It was initially conceived with several different design elements, some actually being European. But it has developed into it's own thing. It's become more than the sum of it's initial design elements. And some of these photoshop guesses of the next iteration appear less American testosterone based pony car and more rounded, refined, Japanese/European sports car-ish.

Personally, I hope it gets a new mean and modern look. Not too impressed with these Hyundai-imitating-Aston-Martin looking renders. If I wanted a metro-sexual looking performance coupe I'd buy an Infinity G37.

FireDragon pretty much hit it on the head. The Mustang is a pony car, not a muscle car. The terms aren't synonymous.

For me, true muscle cars are usually big-engined, full-sized cars but the definition varies. About the only Mustang I might call a "muscle car" were the big block cars from the 60s and perhaps the current GT500s.

In my view the Mustangs have grown too big and heavy and have strayed too much from the initial concept. My feelings wouldn't be hurt if Ford took a step back and decided to return the Mustang to its roots.

I knew i had these pics stored somewhere but these were from an online article(forget where) back from 2010. Apparently early clay models for the future stang, and to think of the size their going for the car. Also notice the fanblade rims....

Check out the car under the blue sheet. In the send pic its the one closest to the guys left arm. Looks alot like a mustang.
Were these pics before the 5.0 and 3.7 were released?

I'd say the car under the blue sheet looks like a Focus sedan - look at the roofline of the Focus to the right of Alan...
