They're not talking to me, either. Too much Evos, not enough Mustang

Your original tweaked front end was great though

Ok so it's either going to look like the old mustang or a totally new one. I see we've narrowed it down.

You guys still really just want the S197. They might as well make a heritage model so everyone will be happy. Make a spin off brand like Land Rover and make variations of Mustang and an S197 that never changes hardly.

Actually that's kind of brilliant.

Kyle Evans' rendering

I keep coming back to this one. For me, if we have to leave the S197 behind, then THIS is what I'd want.

Like the best designs (in my opinion) its simplicity is what makes it beautiful. Rather like the DB9, it doesn't have to try too hard to stand out......no silly spoilers or exagerrated lines.....just pure and simple. Elegant, in fact.

Take the best elements of the Mustang and throw in a mix of Shelby GR1 concept and Aston DB9 and you have a seriously sexy Mustang.

In fact, I'm so in love with this design, I now have several copies (in differing colours) printed out and stuck on my kid's playroom wall (along with other Mustang photos)

(with thanks to TN for the finishing touches to Kyle's original)

I like those too. Not the fake side scoop. I'd like to see a frontal shot with the mean evo squint.

i agree this is the best non-retro design.. But to be honest it looks like it would cost to much to mass produce. Take that design and cheap it out a bit more.

For example the side windows are to small (issues like the Camaro and Challenger have) The rear window is huge in this design. Change the window to a shorter one and add trunk) Then I think we would be on to something.

This. This design is awesome but it looks like a $45k base price Corvette competitor. You can't even squint and see a $21k base model version of this car.

I really love the Evos headlights. Id like to get away from the round headlights. I like the design but Id prefer to see more renders not based off the current mustang. Also the front bumper is alittle odd looking, the front seams to want to lean forward but the bottom is leaning in?

I keep going back to Burningman's rendering. It is not the least bit retro, it is very modern but there is something about it that just screams Mustang. I think it is the overall proportion in relation to one another and the over stance of the vehicle. add to that the door scallop and .....It just says Mustang.

Just my thoughts.

I do like that one too. It does have retro cues to me though - the front fender line and grille draw from the early 70s cars. You can see a mixture of SN95 cues too though. If he could make the front end tie in with Ford's current lineup a bit better, I could see that being the next Mustang. It's smaller and lighter weight, lower belt line with good visibility, but still looks like a Mustang. I can also see a $21k base model off this design, up to a $60k Shelby model, and maybe even a Lincoln version. Well done.

This is officially my favorite too, in case "they" begin to take a poll. Can you post the rear view of this one too?

Wouldn't take much to shorten that rear window and add a trunk (just like the '71-'73)

Or what if they made it kinda like a hatch. Similar to the vettes and supras

Yep, just so long as they could ensure plenty of structual regidity back there. My old Z32 300zx had a huge rear hatch, and you could feel the flex (not helped by T Tops) and rattles

Honestly, I was not crazy about Burningman's finished product but I loved this rear end!

If it looked good and was done right, I would not be against a hatchback...
