2015 Photoshop/Rendering Thread

Who said they need to sell more than 5-10k outside the US? Maybe that's the plan?
I just don't know how you can completely write off a car when nobody really knows what it looks like yet. These are all just some magazine photoshop editors way of getting his name out there.
I've owned 2 Mustangs and been involved in the Mustang community online for over 10 years, every restyling or upgrade (especially the SN95 => SN197) has brought out the "doom and gloom" crowd, and it's never been true.

jedikd, I apologize....I'm not attacking you or your point of view. I completely agree with you that it's crazy to argue about a car very few have even seen. J Mays' comment is the only one I find troubling....I understand the new Mustang needs to be lighter (probably a little smaller too) not only for export sales, but for North American sales also. I also believe Ford needs to "reset" and get away from the retro look that started with the 2005 (I love the 2005-2013's, but they are getting old).
---------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure how profitable it would be for FOMOCO to sell between 5,000-10,000 vehicles overseas......the car would need to be converted to RHD in some markets (UK, Ireland, most of Asia, and Australia) and would need to meet safety, carbon, mpg, etc. requirements too (and we all know Europe is **** about regulations).

Maybe the whole point is to attract a new younger generation for sales in years to come. The 2010 is my first Mustang and honestly I wouldn't have owned any of the previous cars. I am looking forward to a new generation Mustang.

Holy moly! If we have to go away from the "retro" look, then THIS is something I could seriously love!
Any chance of a full rendering? (don't want much, do I???!!?)
TN - I have to agree, the revised roofline on yours does give it a "bubble-top", reminicent of the Z4 (a good looking car in its own right, IMO), but doesn't work as well as TTS197s revisions........and his subtle changes to the rear to give it a fuller fastback look....with a bit of butt

I really do love this thread, I think it's pretty cool to see a bunch of enthusiast share their idea of what a Mustang should look like.
In the last rendering I see plenty of Mustang influence like sn95, new edge, Evos and my personal favorite the 1968 fastback.
Nice, I really like the details looks pretty cool.

I loved the Evos concept the moment I layed eyes on it. I think its new, fresh and really kind of catapults anything Ford currently has into the future. I believe if done correctly and with enough care, a new age Mustang can be created using the Evos styling ques. That said, if things aren't arranged in exactly the right order and with exactly the right style it could also be a disaster. This is how I feel about the current Camaro. Whenever I look at the Camaro all I can think about is how they had a chance to do so much and they ended up with that bozo looking thing. Ford really should be very careful. They don't want to end up in that boat. Amazingly to me they are selling Camaros the way they are. I never thought it would go this well for them. I'm betting they sell just because people are Camaro fans, not so much that they love the car.

They're not concepts released by Ford, they're photoshops from people that do not work for Ford. Go back and look at the rumors archive from 2003-2004 when the S197 was being worked and see how many of those photoshops/sketches look anything like the final product..

I'm old enough to remember....and there wasn't near the "talk" for several reasons.
First, manufacturers changed and updated designs much more often (usually every 2-3 years) before there were so many government regulations.
Second, there wasn't anywhere near the media coverage. You have Car Life, Road and Track, Car and Driver, Hot Rod, and maybe a few more magazines but that's about it.
Third, when September came around the manufacturers hit the air waves (TV and Radio) announcing the new model year and it was a BIG DEAL!!! Waiting for new car releases was HUGE....it's hard to even compare it to anything that goes on today.
When the '71's came out it meant the new 385 series (429 non Boss) engines were now available in the Mustang. The Boss 351 was a pretty big deal too.
Most cars were not really that fast in stock form so anyone who raced them usually modified them....and these cars were almost always a few years old.
By the time the Mustang ll came out in 1974 performance cars from the factory were history. Rising insurance rates and the first oil crisis in '74 put and end to "new" performance cars. We were left with the era of tape stripes, opera windows, Corinthian leather.....we all thought the days of performance cars were gone for good. It took quite a few years but it's a good thing we were wrong about that
