Hey, a man can dream, can't he?

I know that orange rendering is probably way more than we can expect for a mild refresh, but it does prove what could be possible.

I'd love that to be what the 2015 MY looks like, but my fear is Ford will be taking a BIG leap on that design.

2013 MY is a chance to right the (few) wrongs with the current car. I already love the current car, so a few nip n tucks have me very excited for what is likely to be the last S197.

Are those LED accents in the headlamps of the orange sketch? If so, I like it.

This is getting moved.
It really should be in the 2010-2014 section

And does anyone really think that if Ford does any changes to the 2013MY that it'll only be a 1 year run....

I'm thinking just some new colors, rims, and interior package options for 2013...

Interesting.......this is only the 2010+ section and the next generation section is titled the 2014+

Perhaps that should be renamed the 2015+

No worries on moving it...........but would it be better in the Rumor Mill section, which is where I should have probably put it in the first place?

I agree with born2run74 that at most we'll see just minor small changes for the '13. Now I wouldn't be so quick in calling the next gen mustang MY15. For one the 50th anniversary for mustang is MY14....as most whispers within ford has been saying would be the redesign. Second is if you watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z64khYbL0JA J Mays refers to mustang in MY speak not calendar.

All in all we won't know for sure until someone directly from Ford says what the MY for the next gen mustang will be, but until then everything is just conjecture

Yo Pete, can you move some of the redesign talk to the 15+ section, so we can keep this on the 13-14 instead?

I'll say this again - you do realize there are plenty of people on here with FoMoCo connections or who actually work there that know EXACTLY what's going on? A quick blurb in an interview does not trump a business plan for a new model.

We ALWAYS speak MY in the industry. Calander year means nothing because a car's release can be anywhere in the year and change in short notice. Not to mention that we have to communicate with vendors in the same speak -- some vendors are probably going to be working on the 50th Anniversary tooling starting next year ...

I have a hard time thinking they will refresh so soon before a major overhaul, and possibly an entirely new platform, why not just funnel those resources in to the new car? It's not like the current car is any slouch.

Well I guess you could look at sales and if its economically feasable.

2 more years without changes could hurt sales.

Tweak here, tweak there...add some tech thats more mainstream at the time....drum up sales before the big 5-0

Gives people a reason to trade up.

I guess I couldn't see trading up to a slightly touched up car right before I knew that they would be bringing out an entirely new car.

We'll see what happens, but I doubt we'll see much. They just refreshed thecar in. 2010, and dropped new drive trains in 2011. Really doubt it. Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong though.

I think a good indication of what they will do if there actually is a mild refresh would be something like the new Accord coupe or Subaru WRX. They changed bumpers, tail lamps, ground effects, grilles.... small stuff that wouldn't take much retooling but keep the car fresh.

Then again Ford didn't really refresh the 2005-09 car much... just option stuff so who knows. I remember reading something about Ford's new restructuring plan that they could dramatically change the look of there cars on the cheap as long as they kept the same roof and doors and wanted to update cars every 3 years or so to keep things fresh.
