Another 2011 GT engine failure
It's that there has been a rash of phony complaints where the alleged problems don't jive. And like I posted before, most of these are newbies that never contribute anything else to the forum, and when asked for details my those with mechanical aptitude, most of the times the newbie with the alleged OMG Bad Ford! post runs away.
Too many camaro5 type ****heads trying to sway Ford buyers and feed google archives.
Your lack of details and unusual circumstances - with even more unusual response from your Dealer 'OK we'll replace your engine and eat thousands of dollars for your vandalism, but we won't do it ever again!' - that triggers questions.
Stick around and prove the results. And contribute something to the forum besides a bizarre complaint.

Diesel fuel in gas motors will ONLY cause it not to ignite the fuel in the chamber due to diesel fuel not atomizing in the chamber. Diesel fuel will only cause the motor to misfire/ not start depending on the concentration. please lets just leave it at this, will a mod lock this thread?
LOL ... did OP put Diesel in his tank .. that makes more sense of how oil got in there. I hate to admit it .. but I accidentally put diesel in my car once .. Carb not FI ... and it smoked and stalled. All I had to do was drain tank and put in fresh Gasoline and it started back up and never had a problem.
Now .. putting Gasoline in a Diesel engine will definitely break things .. but not the other way around ...

You should buy a locking gas cap regardless of whatever becomes of this.
I totally understand why some think this person is not on the up and up! Deysha really needs to clear this up so we can get a better idea as to what the real story is! That is if she even knows the real story! The part that doesn't add up is Ford picking up the bill for something that wasn't their fault! "OIL" in the gas tank ... NONE of this story makes sense! There is NO link to engine damage due to oil in the gas no matter HOW it got in there! Yet Ford picks up the bill, gives him a verbal warning not to let this happen again! The title is DEFINATLY suspect! ANOTHER 2011 GT engine failure... not with oil in the fuel! If it blew up, it was caused by severe abuse caused by little to no oil in the crankcase! Anybody could add oil to a motor AFTER the damage is done! Even if it was low on oil at the time of delivery, why ,as a new enthusiastic owner of a new car, would you avoid taking the time to READ your owners manual, and get to REALLY know your new Mustang by at least pulling the dipstick and prove to yourself that you really care about what is under the hood?! When you spend 30,000-40,000 bucks, you should care! It takes 1 minute to check! Check it 5 times a week if you want ... but CHECK it! Oil is a lot cheaper than a motor! It takes 5w50 not 5w20! READ! ... OK... I'm done ranting!
Ok, guys, this is my last post here. I feel like a broken record or as if I'm back in high-school. I feel tired of proving that I'm not an idiot. You can think whatever you wish if that makes you feel better. It seems that this forum is only allowed for positive posts and if you had a bad experience with a Ford product you are not allowed here. I want to thank everyone who chipped in and offered some great tips.
I'm a member of a few high-end watch forums, and in the last 5-6 years I remember no instance of someone who would blame a member for having an issue with a watch - most of them cost as much as an engine from a car or even more.
Thank you Deysha for your professionalism and quick responses. I hope to hear back from you soon.

After reading all the post in this Thread and being old and have done most of the work on all the cars i've owned and repairs on friends cars.................
Oil in the gas will not blow up an engine.....It may shut it down, but not blow it up. Years ago i ran out of gas while pulling my boat. I put 5 gallons of my boat gas (2 stroke) in my tank. My car ran perfect, only smoked a little.
There must be more to the story. Maybe he'll come back and tell us more......

I'm breaking my promise not to post here even though I'm a man of word. It just bothers me that people are so quick to blame with no visual or technical evidence. I described everything that happened in my first post. If you guys were genuinely interested in what happened you could have just asked me specific questions. I was here all the time, I did not run away. My wife is very surprised with my patience when I told her that I still check the latest posts here.
I'm sure engineers at Ford are not stupid and can find out exactly what happened to the car.
When I received a call from the shop the guy said that they found oil in the tank and said that Ford will not cover the expense as it looks like an act of a vandalism. I do not know if they came to this conclusion by just looking at the color of the fuel, or did some tests. 2 days later they told me that when they smudge the fuel on the finger it dissipated completely leaving only dark residue. I think oil would still be felt on the finger as it can not evaporate. So maybe the dark substance are some charred particles from a bad cylinder, I do not know. There was only 2 or 3 gallons of fuel when that happened, so may be it was very easy for the fuel to change color.
Please just ignore me if you already made up your mind. The easiest way to find more about it is to call the shop, you know their name.

And the black substance left on their hands. Take a picture of it. Take a picture of them sampling the fuel. I have to see this to believe it.
Well, Ford Customer Service is involved so there is some basis to the problem. Just seems to need some clearing up as to what happened to the engine to cause it to blow up or stop running. This can only be found out by the owner or customer service as most shops will not talk to non owners about a car.
Find out more from the shop and let us know what the results are. Ask them for details and they will share as much as they know. We all want to know what happens to each bad car so everyone gains knowledge about them.

I work an hour drive from the shop, I open my place 2 hours before them, and close at 7pm. I would have asked my wife, but she takes care of our sick child who takes a third course of antibiotics. I will come there on Saturday, hope the evidence will still be there.
If they insist on vandilism, I would call local law enforcement, have them meet you at the dealership, and file an incident report and ask that the officer take statements from the service department. This would also help when making an insurance claim.
