Air Conditioning went out...

I could see engine movement causing a stress fracture in an AC line, but cannot see how it would cause a misfire. I'm thinking when they fixed the AC the first time, the system wasn't properly flushed and debris in the system caused the compressor to take a dump, not bad engine mounts.

I'm eager to know if the motor-mount operation cures the misfire. It seems to me that stuff is diversionary activity covering up some liability on their part resulting from the previous AC repair.

Add another one to the list. My 2014 V6 with 37,100. Compressor is dead. Thank God I have the extended warranty. There is no way this is all just coincidence. The AC components in these cars must be some seriously substandard crap.

I guess I get to be added to this list (91k miles). Seems to have become quite noticeable last Sat (and of course, right after I installed the Borlas...). I can tell the outer part of the compressor clutch is engaging, but the inner part is barely moving and has a small ring of melted rubber. Don't know yet if it's just a clutch hub failure or the compressor as well. It's not completely locked up. I'll find out what the dealer says later this week.

My a/c died on Friday. Looks like I'm part of a club I didn't want membership in. The power seat died the week before. I now have all of the common failures. Am I the only thinking of getting rid of this car? I love it but I can't afford to keep repairing things. Lol, I thought ford had gotten better.

My a/c died 3 weeks ago. I had thankfully purchased an extended warranty. I only had a 1000 miles left when the compressor grenaded and took the whole system with it. I had to fight to get it covered. While it's being repaired under warranty now, the warranty company is using 3rd party parts. Usually this would make me angry but after the performance of my factory compressor, I'm ok with an aftermarket part. Sadly, I have to wait a bit more. Some of the minor parts sent were for a different car. I love and miss my car but all these repairs are trying my patience.

2011 GT 5.0 Mine to has gone out at 55k. Whole system has to be replaced. Be careful with the extended warranties make sure you read them because they don't cover the entire system. Still got to fork out 900 to get mine fixed even with warranty.

I feel better about my policy now. The company I purchased it from would not authorize Ford parts. They are using new aftermarket parts. With the performance of the original compressor, I'm actually ok with this.

Ford evidently does not build quality compressors any longer.
The AC unit in my 2003 F150 truck still works like new. Always parked outside in the sun and still on the original freon.
Scratching head?

Ford's warranties cover related damage, so if the compressor is covered and it blows up sending crap through all the lines, evaporator core, condenser, etc, all that stuff gets covered too.
Unless the dealership or the Service Advisor just plain sucks and is afraid to get that claim up there in $$$ amount.
When I was a writer I absolutely loved ESP repairs ... they wouldn't count against the dealership's warranty numbers, I got paid for them, the tech got paid, the dealer got paid ... it was gravy!

2012 Mustang Premium V6 - a/c went out at 28,000 miles. Covered by warranty. That was last June (2015). A/C went out again today, now at 41,000 miles. SMH - what kind of crap are they using to build this junk? An a/c compressor that can't even last a year? And I live in Seattle - the a/c compressor is not used that often - for a/c or the defroster!

2012 Base Mustang with only 33k miles. Bought the used car in good condition 10 days ago and a/c is not working now. This is my first ford. Most of my family and friends have told me never to buy a Ford and I went against all of them. So disappointed to even know that this thread exists here and ford is not doing anything about it. I am planning on doing some low cost things by myself before going to the dealership.
My first guess was low 134 so i bought recharge kit but the problem is the cap of the recharge kit for some reason does not snap on to my low pressure port. Does anyone know why? Also another thing I noticed is the compressor clutch does not engage when I turn the A/C on in the car. This is a new car for me so I want to make sure I am looking at the right area. Can someone tell me where the compressor clutch/pulley is so I can confirm it is not engaging. Once that done, can some one also tell me where is the low pressure switch so I can jump and by pass to start the compressor for few minutes to get the pressure reading.
Thank you,
Again so disappointed with my first Ford. I am loosing my sleep over this. After spending this amount of money, I should not have to sit in my car with 100 degrees outside with windows down. My 3 year was so excited to sit in my car. This happened in our first trip with him in this car. I was hoping to keep this car for a long time. But now I am not sure. Did I make a huge mistake?
I read so many people have written about it here (there are probably 10 times more people who have this issue and not part of this forum) and still Ford is not doing anything about this issue. How can you sell vehicles like this?
Thank you,
H

Add me to the list. 2011 GT purchased in August of 2010. 55,000 miles. AC started acting funny on the ride home yesterday. Made a sound when I turned it on and not cooling.
I just took it to a independent repair shop (not to my Ford dealer since they wouldn't step in on the differential rebuild they did that only last 1.5 years). The shop said the clutch on the compressor is bad, the belts were going out and the compressor is grinding internally. Need a new compressor and receiver drier (have to replace the drier to get the warranty on the repair). $1,137.
Really getting frustrated with Ford. Re-built differential required twice at 55,000 miles and now this.

Count me in too... A/C died last Thursday; 2013 GT @ 53k miles.
Dead compressor. $1500 parts and labor to replace it and required other components of system, plus flush and refill, at my trusted independent shop. I've never had ANY car have severe AC issues under 100k miles before.
Between this, the rear pinion seal failing (twice) less than 5k miles ago, and my 'rusting' aluminum hood the dealer won't cover, I'm pretty disillusioned w/ the Mustang at the moment.
