Sync update v.3.2.2
Really has nothing to do with the phones now. It's about Ford getting us 2011 owners an update. iPhone supports MAP now. No more excuses from Ford that its Apples fault.

I'll just throw this out there for good measure...
The entertainment system in my wife's '13 Escape (My FordTouch) turns itself on or off, and occasionally won't turn off at all. She swears she's heard it still playing after she's shut down the vehicle, exited, and locked it up. It has changed between modes by itself, the clock has lost it's setting by HOURS a couple times now, the navigation display will change what it's showing (or not) for no apparent reason, and one day we turned it on and got a Microsoft/SYNC update in progress screen... even tho a Ford Master tech assures me it doesn't do automatic updates.
The 'official' word from the regional Customer Care supervisor/manager after the last time it was in the shop for two weeks for a cruise control problem was that, yeah, there's an identified issue with the power button, and the clock... and the engineers are working on it. They don't know what the problem is, so they don't know how long it will take... but they'll notify the dealers when the fix is out. But they won't be notifying us. And no, there's nobody to escalate my complaint to.
So it's broken, they don't know how to fix it, and they're selling the hell out of new ones that must surely have the same problem. Unless we're just totally jinxed.

I don't want to derail this thread, but I definitely want to look into your wife's Escape concerns. PM your VIN or case number and I'll check it out.

so 3.1 is STILL the latest Update for 2011's?
so i think at this time either give us an exact time frame or just say your not getting any more updates and be done with it.. because like others i spent $2k on an option that i thought was going to be updated fequently (at least bi-yearly)
AR3T-14D544-AE Gen1 - V3.1 5/19/2010
so going on 2.5 years with the same firmware, I've been reading and hearing the same thing for over the past 1 1/2 years saying engineers are working on it from both on here and directly on sync support site..
so when should we expect it?

Version 3.1.4 is available only through the dealer via PTS and only for "specific issues". Not having MAP for a Galaxy S III appears to be one of the "specific issues" because the dealer installed it for me last weekend. It adds the Enable MAP option under the Advanced menu and it now works with my phone (which is actually a Galaxy S II but don't tell Ford because they think it's incompatible).

I have no idea what the acronym stands for but I know that PTS is a computer system used by Ford and dealership technicians. The 3.1.4 update is not available through the normal channels (SYNC website, etc.) but only through this PTS system. When I spoke to Ford customer service they initially told me there was no update available but when I pressed a bit they found it after a few minutes by looking on the PTS system. Once he told me it was available, I just went to the dealer and told them there was an update on PTS that they could download and install for me. They understood and installed the update the same afternoon. You cannot get the update to install yourself - it must be installed by the dealer. I was not charged because I had the car in for other service (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) but I have heard that some owners have been charged labor for installing the update.

3.1 is currently the latest version for 2011 models. Our engineers are working on updates, but they don't inform me of timing or availability. As I obtain new information, I promise to share it with you.
PTS is the acronym for our internal dealership database, Professional Technician Society.
3.1.4 has not been released to SyncMyRide as an update, but is available at the dealership for those exhibiting certain concerns. For details, contact the service department at your dealership.
