I wanted to post about the Dynavin/Navos N7 for the 10-14 Mustangs. It is wired for Base, Tech Package, and Premium cars, and is a plug and play option that works as well as factory navigation, perhaps better.
1: it replaces the stock Sync Module, information center, face plate, and radio.
2: this unit is provisioned for CarPlay and Android Auto
3: the unit is setup for backup cameras.
4: the screen is capacitive
5: the unit integrates with the USB hub in the center armrest for CarPlay/Android Auto, as well as Aux In.
6: parking sensor data does not appear on backup camera screen
7: the controls match the interior color and feel of the stock radio plate&stock nav systems pretty well.
8: the climate control is done via hard buttons, but there is a Sync 3-esque climate control interface on screen that works exceptionally well.
9: steering wheel control integration is about as good as you can expect from the rudimentary system Ford uses. The voice button calls up Google Assistant or Siri for the connected Bluetooth device
10: the bootup logo and Bluetooth name can be changed to suit your needs. I chose a Ford Logo, and called the unit "Ford-Sync" to mimic factory.
11: Bluetooth mic is aftermarket, as the integrated one is a different impedance and won't work. I placed it over the existing location and have had decent results with callers being able to hear me
12: the climate controls show actual tempurature data, and not just "notches" of hot/cold. I can set the temperature to 70°F and the vents blow 70°F air. It won't automatically control the fans, but I like it better than the factory ****.
13: paint matches exactly to the existing center console
14: the preinstalled iGo primo GPS navigation is serviceable. It fits the era of the car, and is quick once started. I don't use it much because I always have my phone. However, it worked great in a situation where I didn't have cell service but knew my destination address. Obviously, there is no traffic data. Speed limit data was fairly accurate, and has configurable warnings for speed thresholds.
15: sound quality is much improved over the stock base/tech and Shaker systems. It includes provisions for every available option, I didn't have a factory sub so I didn't need that harness, but the provisions available worked great for the aftermarket system I have. The source level for each component can be seperatly controlled - navigation can be seperate from media, which can be seperated into Bluetooth, Smartphone, and Aux. The assistant audio level can be adjusted, as well as incoming calls and phone conversation levels.
16: the interface is a little outdated for my taste, but it fits the era of the car pretty well.
The installation is super easy. My install included a front and rear parking camera setup. I made a wiring harness for the video and +12V power circuit for it. Besides that, Jeff @ J&T Distributing (not affiliated with them) has developed a completely drop-in system. I placed the GPS antenna in the dash, behind the center vents. I placed the mic in the stock location, and it works OK - not great. I may 3D print a mount to go somewhere else. This unit is for sure worth the asking price, as it's an OEM solution for a 5 year old car that includes Android Auto/CarPlay. It also has some interesting options for expansion - I easily added a front parking camera system, and wired it up such that it operated pretty much exactly like other Ford vehicles.
Let me know if you have questions or want to see specific photos. I can't speak to the same product sold on American Muscle, but the one sold by Dynavin does indeed have Android Auto.
This is the part that makes CarPlay/AA work
Main harness. The faceplate connector (4 pin) and Information Center (12 pin) are left unconnected. This will cause communication errors with the APIM, just like any other aftermarket unit. There is no check engine light, and it won't affect anything. It uses CANBUS commands for climate control
The included install guide. It's pretty comprehensive.
I suppose this would be an option but still not what I'm looking for. I've been waiting for someone to just make the physical AC controls that look like the stock OEM controls in the base package and a bezel that I could then put any head unit I wanted in it, like say the Alpine iLX-F309. Then I'm not locked into an all in one unit with all the compromises associated with that.

Yeah I wish there were a way. This comes pretty close though, and has Android Auto/CarPlay. Is it perfect? I guess not, but it's a really good option.

Does it include the external temperature on the display?
Oh dear, my amplifier burnt. Can it be caused by the Dynavin N7 Pro I installed 4 weeks ago? Anybody an idea why this happened? Smalls bad Amplifier rear of GT 2011, harness connection to shaker 1000 totally destroid Luckily we could stop it Anybody a spare amplifier left for me?
Thank you for your post. I have just installed the unit in my Mustang, and so far everything is working great.
I have two questions:
The factory air conditioning controls did not have a temperature setting, as you said it's simply hot and cold. So how does the NAVOS manage to adjust the air flow to achieve a certain temperature? I don't have the dual climate control system in my Mustang. I have a feeling that its showing certain temperature numbers, but it's actually just a general indication of "where the temp is" in the relation to the 60-85 degree range. Thoughts?
Also, I have historic traffic and traffic alerts set to activate, but you said that there is no traffic information. Should these two settings just be set to OFF if they're not actually getting any information, or does it matter?
I have 2011 GT convertible with nav/sync and shaker 500, so I assume I need to connect dynavin supplied amplifier retention harness, but I can't find where to connect it to. Any ideas?
I have the exact setup as user above me, 11 GT convertible with the Shaker 500. I’ve installed the unit, CarPlay fires up, but I have no sound! Any ideas? I’ve added the speaker retention harness, still nothing. I phoned an audio shop, the guy there said he thought the blue remote start wire might need to be connected, even though I have nowhere to connect it to.
Thanks for any help!

I just ran into this. Make sure the small 4-pi connector is plugged in, You'll see a 4-wire cable in the adapter and the radio. Make sure they are connected. The instruction video mentions it and I missed it. I got sound after connecting it. However, I still don't get any sound from the OEM sub in the trunk. The adapter harnesses appear to be all connected correct and no settings seem to help. I put the factory radio back in and emailed Dynavin for help.
I got a response from Dynavin. Apparently I missed a connection. I needed to connect the Green "Sub Out" wire to something. The video instructions made it sound like that was for an optional aftermarket Sub but it is actually required. They suggested connecting it to the Green "Sub In" connector (which I totally missed the first time around) or the White "Mid-In" Connector. Due to the different systems that Ford has installed it is a bit of trial and error to see which is correct. In my case, the Green "Sub In" connector did nothing, but the White "Mid In" connector worked. The OEM sub in the trunk is functional.
