Wait ... so you have the software to change/program the cluster yourself? Is that what the pic at the top is? Do you have anything that tells you what the codes are? I've only figured out some of them. Or did you go back today to the dealer?
Cheers

Got the cluster back. They put in the wrong mileage. They put in 28 000 miles instead of kilometers. I have to send it back. But also my car won't start with the cluster. I haven't talked to them yet, as they are closed, but how did they disable PATS?

Bummer about your cluster getting whipped out. I wonder what they could have done to change the PATS.

Did you have to have your car running with the cluster in in order to get PATS set?
Since I am unable to start my car at all, this will be complicated...

No, it doesn't ... my guy said that it should ...
This sucks ...
Here's his e-mail to me:

Hi Pal: Sorry that I haven’t been able to help much lately. In the meantime, Jason and I have been picking up the slack and they have certainly kept me running. As far as the no-start is concerned, yeah the PATS association has probably been broken because that data lives in the same place as the odometer and imperial/metric info. We’ll probably have to do the handshake and key programming again. Do you still have the original cluster? If so, it should still work to start the engine and avoid a tow. I started an IDS session on that white Mustang you sent me the VIN for, but that laptop crashed. Fortunately, the car is still here. I make no claim that transferring the PCM program from this car to yours will work or if it is even possible due to different VIN. Ford is gradually closing the loopholes for module swapping potential. However, I’m willing to give it a try. Is this car your only transportation or could it be left here to experiment with on my own time? Let me know what you would like to do my friend! G

I have to send my cluster back to United Radio anyways, as they put in the wrong mileage (hopefully not my fault so I don't have to pay for it again).
I'm hoping that by the time it comes back, zeroaviation will have had a breakthrough. His solution seems better than messing with my PCM.

I thought his solution was to mess with the PCM? He mentioned flashing the 2013 PCM firmware in the 2012 PCM.
You would need to have a key still paired with your 2012 cluster for it to even have a chance of working.

Jim,
Ask your tech how he plans on doing the PCM programming through IDS? AFAIK, You can only load PCM calibrations on the ECU, not Firmware (I've been tinkering). This requires a tool outside of the Rotunda VCM.
More to come.

He was going to get the PCM data off a 2013 on the lot that was similarly equiped to my car. Then put that into my PCM.
I'll pass on the question, but he has been hard to get a hold of. I'll ask him about the key and the old cluster as well.

Ok, I talked to United Radio.
When they did my odometer, they put the cluster into what he called a 'virgin state'. This returned the cluster to what it was before, and erasing PATS.
Moral of the story: get the odometer done before you do PATS.
They can't do anything about resetting PATS, but they will redo teh odometer for me and put it in kilometers. They won't charge me, even though it was my problem that I didn't indicate kilometers on the form.
