installed my black redlines yesterday on my 2013, easy as pie no installation instructions*not that I'd actually read them even if redline included a set* less then 20 minutes to install.
Looks great underhood*I removed the stickers* and I like that they hold the hood higher up then the factory prop rod, I also noticed it seems much easier to move around under there. Well worth the $65 I paid from lmrs shipping sucked but allwell. This along with the cdc blackout panel, and takeoff white face gt gauges have been the three best visual impact mods I have done to the 13 so far imo anyways.

I ordered the same black ones. I have extra body color paint that I bought when I did another couple small projects and decided if I wanted them body color I'd just paint them myself. I put them on black to see how they looked. They look they belong there and should be black, so black they will stay.

Installed mine today! Super easy to do. I dont think they could make it any easier. Only took about 15-20 minutes to install.

Just wanted to point out that we also manufacture a hood strut kit that requires no drilling or modifications to be installed. And it is made in the USA. Shoot me a PM if I can get you a quote on one with the forum discount.

Not nearly as easy to install though. The hood has to be unbolted from the hinge to install that bracket.

Hey There!

How did you remove the decals without marring the finish?

Just slowly peel them off with your fingernail. No tools no chemicals.

Sorry Brandon, your kit just isn't as slick and simple as the redline kit.

The Redline hood struts have been on almost a year now and I noticed today they have rubbed a spot in the paint on the side of both strut towers. Anyone one else experienced this?

Are these the non drill style you're talking about?

Did you push the bracket on the hood all the way over to the outside when you tightened them down?
It actually said to do that in the instructions to keep it from rubbing. 14K on mine and still look good and no rubbing.

Not to mention the horrible looking brackets with "STEEDA" cut out of them. You can probably fit the word steeda on those at least 10 more times. If the bracket mounts were plain or had some pattern cut out that wasn't lettering, they would look 1000x better IMO...

Step #3, C & D, of the instructions I received from Redline state to keep the insert retainer and the ball stud centered in the hood hole.
Pictures in this thread (#34) and on the instruction sheet show the insert has a relief machined into it to allow it to self-center.

Whatever floats your boat. I have Roush hood Struts and I like that "Roush" is cut out into the support brackets. And they seem much stronger than the redline ones my buddy's got. Nonetheless, it is much better than the wobble stick Ford gave us from the factory no matter what brand you choose to buy.

Redline had a revision on these, you might have the old version.
Old one had rubbing problems, you can google about it, couple other forums had discussions about it. ex: http://www.fordgt500.com/forums/show...=15281&page=12

You can contact Redline and they should send you the necessary parts to fix this issue.
