HID issues

Ok I finally got the HID kit install from HIDguy.net. Only two days later after the install.......one of the headlights would not light up. I had the kit installed by an audio and electronic shop, so I hope they did it right. I swapped the bulbs to see if it was a blown bulb......and the same headlight was out and the other stayed on. So it leads me to think its the ballast. I have the worst luck. I can't believe a ballast to go bad that fast. Am I missing something or is my guess right?

Turn it off and on again, sometimes the ballast won't fire up the igniter, but it does seem like it is a bad ballast.

I hope you got some form of warranty. Otherwise I would be returning for a refund and file a claim with your bank/credit card holder. I have been using www.vvme.com for over 3 years and never an issue.

You need to watch those also, cost more to send the part back to China than to replace it, I had an igniter in 1 bulb go bad the first night they were installed on the set I got for my Mazda3.

I was thinking the bulb first, but after swapping them out I doubt the ignitor in the bulb is bad. HIDguy has replacement ballast for 40 bucks, but I like to have the ballast to put in these week, not next month.

Try flicking the lights on and off. I got a kit from sharphid.com its a DDM tuning kit. Lifetime warranty. I had same issue but when it failed to light I turned them off and back on quickly and worked. Ended up being the ballast. Other than that one issue I love them

I hope your running some sort of projector with those HID's....

otherwise it's a good thing it went out, im sure theres a lot of happy people in your local roads who arn't being blinded

swap the ballasts as well...put the one that doesn't light up where the one that is lighting up...that way at least you can determine if it's a fuse, wiring issue, or the ballast itself.

did the shop run a relay? or wire it right up? if they didn't use a relay you could just not be getting enough power to the one side
