Bummer, well it's motivating to know the IRS is possible in the s197. Just to be clear I don't want to add the IRS so I can be competitive in autocross, I've said before I'm not aggressive enough on the track to be a winner. I want to do this because I like to work on the car, I like the challenge. I also think it will be a fun car to take to car shows, if it performs well on the road course track because of the mods that will be icing on the cake.

Well I don't need to worry about the water pipes hanging down, the cats are at least an inch lower. Once the car is running I may go back and have them adjust that height. They are at least welded up and ready to go.

Wow lots of top secret ecoboost info here! Most notably 10 psi boost and 600 HP, that's a very free flowing engine. This is something I tried to achieve with my project, huge exhaust, low loss intercoolers, upsized turbo piping, huge air filter. When you have a free flowing turbo engine your boost doesn't have to be high to get high HP, you just need air volume and that creates pressure on a more restrictive engine.
Oh and they are restricted to 600 HP with restrictor plates, makes 800hp with out it. Also says they pull 1000hp with the engine on the dyno. 10 miles at WOT and it still lives....amazing!

I bought them on eBay, magnaflow 99659hm, for $100 each. They were asking $125 but there was an option to make an offer. There are cheaper cats but these are heavy metal, which is important to have on any vechicle 2004 and higher that gets smog tested. I threw my old cats away before the new ones arrived, apparently that was a mistake. There's a return label in the box with the cats and an offer for $25 each for the used ones.
I bought 3" cats and flanged the exhaust pipe to fit it.
