BBK shorty tuned ceramic headers
I go off the Internet because I've seen too many friends buy stuff off the Internet and not do proper research. If I'm going to spend 400 hard earned dollars I don't want to have to deal with a bad set of headers. Surely I can't be the only one who thinks this way
Your not the only one but depending on who you buy from returning a bad set for a great set will not be a problem. AM has very good customer service and will make things right. They sent my the wrong part once and fixed it before the end of the week, it was annoying to have to wait another week for my parts but no real harm done.

Exhaust update
Here is the latest video of my exhaust build, BBK shorty tuned headers + (auto) resonators + FRPP Xpipe + GT500 mufflers. She should have came like this from the factory!

Took long to process, up and viewable.

My guess is the video doesn't do the sound justice, but seems to me like the only mod that really made a exhaust sound difference was the gt500 mufflers. Sounds very nice though
It definitely sounds good. But the only way to tell how much the headers made a difference in sound, would have been to install them last, not first.
Good discussion guys and your stangs are sounding good. I had a chance to install the frpp x-pipe before I left town for work. Sounds great with my Magnaflow cat-back. Actually makes it a true cat-back now. The sound is only a little louder but deeper now. I can't wait to get back and install the headers then I will be done with the exhaust!

I know any decent exhaust shop shoukd be able to fabricate some piping which would be an improvement over stock but if you want the specific pipes that go with your axle-backs you would have to call around to see (maybe from american muscle?). I don't think you can tho.

I wouldn't leave them stock though if your trying to get the best sound and performance (hp) out of your exhaust. My goal was to make it as free flowing as possible but staying legal at the same time. So in the end I will have Magnaflow street series cat-back, frpp x-pipe, stock cats (which flow pretty well from what I've been told) and shorty headers. The Cat-back is 2 1/2 in. piping and stock is 2.25. Below are pics of what I have now and a pic of the stock piping. In the last pic you can see the flat spots and dents in the piping. There weren't any in the Magnaflow or FRPP parts.

Sound wise, I can't speak for, im sure it would make a diffetence if you upgrade to a 2.5 but i believe these engines need that back pressure. I did change my mind on swapping out the rest of the piping.
When she blows, I will upgrade to a bigger diameter piping.

I dont think those slights bends will make a difference. I was just under my car and noticed that the driver side has a slight press to it in a certain spot for a foot. The passenger side is round the whole length.

Wait up guys, turns out you CAN buy only the pipes! Search for Over Axle Pipes. So far I've found JPC, lethal performance, and borla. They all seem to be for GT's.. except the lethal performance pipe says its also for the V6 on their youtube video for the pipe. Im going to email them and make sure its accurate. they all cost about $350 though. and they're also 2.75' diameter

From what I have heard unless you are going F/I even replacing the OTA pipes can loose too much back pressure.
The 3.7 needs all it has to get it on the low end, with the pipes being computer designed I am sure that bend on the left OTA pipe has a reason for being there. You might gain some on the upper end but I think the low end loss would negate the upper end gain.

I have to disagree here, I think if you install a aftermarket system you won't loose to much back pressure. I certainly haven't. I have just as much low end now as I did when I was stock and I plan to pick up more with the headers!
