1 Piece Drive Shaft
Hi Friends,
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I know that both 5.0 and 3.7 have same 6 speed Trans in them. Will the DSS 1 piece drive shaft from a 5.0 fits a 3.7?
Thanks for the input!!

No ... The Transmissions are the same type, but not identical. The V6 has a specific shaft.
We sell an axle exchange shaft for the V6 & the cost is $689.95
You have to call & order it ... it is currently not on our website 1800 950 0774.
Best Regards,
TJ

Best way to tell is call the manufacturer of the Drive shaft. if not look up the part numbers from the after market and compare the part numbers. You could always call one of the manufactures and ask. I would not just take anyone's word.

Starting with post #135; but maybe read the whole thing. I don't know if anyone has ever been able to use a stock GT driveshaft in a 3.7 Mustang, but he's saying the flange is the only variable with the aluminum aftermarket one... true?? I'd love to also know if anyone has done it, or tried.

From what I can tell, the driveshaft should be a bit longer in the v6 because the transmission sits farther forward than the transmission in the 5.0. That's why the things like the blowfish racing bracket mounts differently for the v8 and v6 versions.
