Have you heard one in person with exhaust? Online I hate the coyote sound, almost always. But, in person it's pretty sexy. Still not the old school Mustang sound that my 03 has, but still deep, especially with the Borlas or Outlaws.

You can get closer to the old 4.6 sound with mid-mufflers. The axlebacks change a LOT of the tone for some reason. I've heard 05-10 cars with mid-muffler setups and they sound very close to the SN95s.

Exactly. The coyote plus borlas equals heaven.

I like the 2v and the 3v sound the best. The new 5.0 has a different firing order that's why it sounds like crap.

You haven't come close to the best sounding Mustangs, the old 5.0 did sound good, but the Boss 302 still has a sound all by itself, as well as the 4V Clevelands and the FE's, and pure sex was a 429 Boss with a set of Hooker SuperComp headers and Glasspacks

If the car don't sound right the driveshaft is worthless.

Ive got about 6 or 7 guys i normally cruise with that have the new 5.0's all woth different exhaust. Ones got straight pipes from headers back, one with borla everything and electric cutouts, one with roush axlebacks and resonators welded into the midpipe, one with just borla axle backs, one with kooks headers, lethal offroad X, and borla ataks to finish it off. They all sound great but as mentioned in the post above mine ^ they have a bit of a higher note/buzz that just throws it off enough to sometimes bug me.

Theres a few 03-04 cobras and machs in town and one cobra has a bassanni X pipe and borla stingers. My ears sing in glory everytime i hear it all through the rpm range

I hear ya. Down low the coyote is okay. When it's revved out, it just doesn't sound like a Mustang anymore. I have a Bassani catted X and catback on mine

When the Coyote is revved up the sound doesn't matter due to the fact

well my driveshaft came in today and it seems that its for a 2011+ 5.0. will it for on mine? it seems that they sent me a 2011+v6 pinion flange which im guessing is what they send to the gt owners. is the after market drive shaft the same for the 2011+ v6 and gt with the exception of them sending a v6 pinion flange to put on the gt's? thats what they were trying to tell me on the phone.

What brand? I was under the impression that they are different driveshaft all together.

i just got in from measuring everything and they are the same length and same bolt holes. it seems that the only difference is that the gt has a different pinion flange which they send you when you order a new drive shaft for your gt. i looked up the part number on it and its the oem v6 pinion flange so if someone is looking to put a stock gt drive shaft in their v6 all they need is the gt pinion flange and drive shaft. im sure you could get both pretty cheap from someone that put a aluminum drive shaft on their gt. bot measure 54 inches compressed and 59 stretched out.

i put the 5.0 aluminum driveshaft on today and it fit perfectly. i must say a aluminum drive shaft is the absolute best mod ive done yet. it made the drivetrain feel much more solid and much more refined. i plan to order long tube headers when i get paid this friday and then ill pretty much be done with power upgrades for now. ill start working on putting the power to the ground next with sticky tires and suspension upgrades.
