SPANKED by Camaro 1LE- need tire and suspension prescription to keep up
Although, if I spend 34k on my car and you spend 70k+ you should beat me in a race! I like the fact that Chevy actually did a great job on the suspension and those wide (greatly needed) tires. If produced Ford better step up to the plate!
I don't mind...it's fun having them on the forums. And I enjoy being on Camaro 5. The fan boys on both sites are hilarious. I like the refresh other than the tail lights and that stupid hood vent. Hopefully Ford steps up with something awesome too.
This really seems like GM's version of a Porsche GT2 RS now that I think about it and will probably be produced in similar numbers - great for the few well heeled Camaro nut swingers that can afford it, great for the cover story in the buff rags but otherwise it'll probably be a unicorn inhaling rainbows and farting pixie dust.
Yes and no - I'd hate to see the next Boss or Boss replacement starting out in the 60-70k price range just to compete with the Z/28 if Ford considered using the Boss name in that manner (the Z/28 is after all the Boss Mustang's natural competitor given both marque's histories - although the 1LE has muddied that somewhat).

Im sure svt will engineer like a true track pack on the gt mustang. Rear seat delete with a cross brace, bigger brakes from Baer or Brembo, simple drilled slotted rotors instead of carbon ceramic, too expensive. Remapped ECU, manual seats, 6-speed, better bigger tires such as 255 front 305 rear. And a host of other improvements.

Believe it or not this isn't the only ford site i'm on
Now I know how the ford owners on the GM sites I'm on feel, but hey we can learn from each other and help eachother out . . . stirring the pot in good fun never hurts either
Can't truly compare an LS engine to a Ford engine because they are 2 different types, main difference would be the fact we are running 1 cam with 1 intake and 1 exhaust valve.
I like the 5th gen Camaro, but I'll keep my 4th gen because the blind spots on the new one are horrible. Also a car payment will suck to have again, the registration fees per year are quite expensive compared to what I have now and the weight on the car needs to be addressed big time!!!
btw the comparrision of the engine bays and how GM is copying Ford...

Just saw this.
Z/28, eh? Nice to have it back, and in a meaningful way.
I didn't like how Chevy threw the 'Z' badge around in the 80s and 90s. Z used to mean something. Looks like now it will again. But what a rediculous price to pay to get a Z. I'm still confused where the Z/28 is supposed to slot in with and who it's aimed at?

And I don't think it's aimed at any of the pony cars....this thing on paper is gonna be Porsche GT2 maybe even GTR fast.
I don't really blame GM for what it's going to be priced at. They are giving the die hard z28 guys everything they asked for. Those guys should know a 40,000+ SS with a 15,000 engine, 2,500 seats and 7,000 brakes isn't going to be 47,000-48,000 they are throwing out on Camaro 5.

I don't know. It's a lot of money just for the priviledge of losing to a Porsche.

I agree I don't think it will be aimed at any of the pony cars because frankly the only one that can measure up is the gt500, dodge has nothing and will they ever?
