SPANKED by Camaro 1LE- need tire and suspension prescription to keep up
... you have 2 little ones to haul around. I was going to buy a Miata or a Honda S2000, but plans were shot down when news that I was to be a daddy popped up. Then number 2 a year later. A 2 seater made no sense, but a new Mustang GT convertible made perfect sense!! Alot of people got a chuckle seeing my new vert with 2 baby seats in the back!
Long story short, some of us need those rear seats.
But at that price if you want a track car, yeah a Vette maybe smarter? Our Boss made perfect sense for the price as CCT King stated.
Still, I hope it does well.

If fords SVT team made a FR500 SE or Parnelli Jones SE to compete with the z28 but slot price where the boss was, im pretty sure Chevy will end up removing the z28 from the line. Im not sure what their projected sales goals are but i highly doubt theyd sell more than a thousand or couple thousand a year

An even better thing would be that the zl1 is more focused on straight line with decent handling (like the gt500) while the z28 is the track animal that can hold its own in a straight line battle (like the Boss models).
This wouldve been more logical, and the main reason Ford has been so successful with the mustang for the past couple years. Theres a different car for everyone all at affordable prices with HUGE aftermarket support. The camaro is priced just a shade too high

Actually, that would be good for us because it could prompt ford into bringing out an ecoboost motor tuned for the mustang. Who knows whatll happen next
I think with the equipment listed on the Z28. I really think its gonna give the Porsche and Godzilla a run for its money. The ZL1 has proven pretty capable on the road course...the Z28 takes that up a few notches, better brakes, better shocks, better suspension, 305 R compound tires on all 4 corners and dropped 300 pounds. On paper it's gonna be a rocket
The z28 however most likely wont be as fast. The weight, visibility, drivings dynamics (currently unknown) will all contribute to its losing performance. Itd be interesting to see it take on a supercharged Boss though!
I think it just weighs too much. Still weighs more than the mustang! Plus the AWD of the GT-R will help it outpace both contenders through the corners although the porsche is lighter. Posche will be very close and ultimately a drivers race. Both cars have their strengths and weaknesses to exploit.

Chevy really needs to re-think their upper level camaro prices. I mean, a track ready camaro thats more expensive than a track inspired/ready corvette? Im still scratching my head there.
And when it comes down to it the r-compound and the stiffer sidewall will add to rigidity and grip which will help the car in turns. I think it eill definitely perform but also a waste of money to bring back a nameplate

It's comical
I'm surprised Chevy did this when they already have the ZLE, that outperforms the Boss on a track, wether it due to wider, stickier tires or not. Its been proven by back to back test.
And now the Z28? I guess theyre tryin to prove that the Camaro is a contender on all fronts making it versatile and adding to the funfactor.
This. The 1LE was faster than the boss by at least a second on most tracks. And its probably one of if not THE best handling camaro ever.

I mean the ZL1 and GT500 are already up there in price. And Chevy keeps raising the cost. They call the Z28 a street legal track car. But yet they still have a back seat.

probably.
