My passenger side is rusted and I live in central Florida. We haven't had any snow here in a couple of years. And never enough to put salt on the roads. So I don't buy the salt argument. They are rusting from the inside.

I was thinking that it would be better the drill on the outlet side of the muffler since that's where they are rusting, right? Also, the weight(and water) shifts the the rear when driving.

The inlet weld on one of mine is welding, whereas the outlet weld on the other is, so I'm not sure.

That would be sweet, like for the AM car
show or others that I haven't been too. I'm hoping 2012 is a nice year for that stuff.

Ok. I did it. I wanted to get maximum drainage, so I actually drilled my weep holes on the bottoms of the mufflers. The driver's side drained more water than the passenger side:

Mission accomplished. Mufflers drained. No apparent change in tone.

Next!

I am not seeing any more drip, drip...so I guess whatever comes out just gets blown out during normal operation. I drove it around, I can't hear any leaking. If anything, the tone sounds a little better now that they are emptied out of water.

Go ahead and do it, folks. I don't see any drawbacks.

Mike,

What size hole did you drill?

My bits weren't marked. I guess around a 1/8 inch hole, maybe a bit smaller. It doesn't take much to get the water out.
