Checked my 4@ Series the other day and even with heavy rains, sleet, and ice they are still looking almost new. Strange that Flowmaster would hold out longer than Roush..

When someone drills weep holes in their Roush with no ill side effects, please post some details and images so others can follow your example.

Thanks,

Mike

Who's gonna be the guinea pig???!!! Lol

And just as a side note, if you make a hole and it happens again, Roush probably won't cover them under warranty.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd be up to being the guinea pig, but I might as well forget the warranty. However, the holes should solve this issue happening again.

I'll put both new and old side by side tomorrow and take pictures so we can see where they started to rust through. I'll post them up so we can come to an agreement where it should go and then go from there.

As long as you dont drill the actual weld, I think they'd be hard pressed to say that the drain hole caused a cracked weld. But who knows.

I'm thinking the back side that faces the tires might be the best. I think it rusted through the welds because that was the weakest spot.

It might be beneficial to take a level to the bottom of the muffler and find which way they slope, and then drill close to the lowest point.

Yes, or else how would you know how they slope when mounted? lol

You could measure the cracked ones now and then drill the new ones off the car, or just install them and park the car over the curb and drill them on the car.

Just got a call from roush. I need to send pics and the original order receipt and if they verify there is a crack they will send replacements and I ship the old ones back when I receive the new ones =]

No. the rust comes from the inside out from water sitting inside the muffler and corroding the welds.

Your stock mufflers have weep holes, Borla recommends weep holes be drilled.

I will be drilling mine when I finally get mine replaced.

Mine are about to break thru if I press on them. I probably will, cause within a few weeks they will break thru on their own.

When you guys put them on, did you have to disconnect the sway bar? I got the old one out, now I can't get the new one in..

Nope. But being a roush, yours might have different suspension components. I did have to lower the panhard bar though.

Crap. I've had them off once before and I don't remember having to move anything around.

Serious question, are you installed the drivers on the driver side, and passengers on the passenger side?
