You said it in your own post, you probably won't have any problems without one.

Right, and you probably won't have any problems with the car should you choose to never clean the wheels, but is that a good reason not to clean them?

Just bumping an old thread. Any of you guys who found metal shavings in yours nearly a year ago have any issues now? I ask because I just put my on recently and after about 300 miles I checked it and in the teaspoon of oil was a bunch of metal shavings, like the glitter a few of you mentioned before. I'm at 8k as of yesterday and I haven't burned any oil. Any concerns or just normal?

Mine should be in the mail today. Be installing with about 3,000 miles on the clock.

It's probably not metal shavings from your engine. It's more than likely stuff left over from JLT making the can, and also the anti seize compound they put on it looks very much like metal shavings.

I'm gonna have to give mine a check! If mine has nothing then it's probably what Lewis said since mine was used already before I got it.

What we recommend is check it every few hundred miles to see how much your car is getting. After that you can gauge how long you can to.

Every oil change should be fine for most.

This is 2 days after I installed it and less than 50 miles. I have a total of 900 miles on her since I bought her 8 months ago. Passenger side jlt separator from American muscle.com. Im a believer!

Oh and if you change your pcv valve with one from the gt500 then it will be even better than the separator. Just an FYI

I picked up one for my boss and was surprised about the quality of it, looks as though it would be a factory piece. Well worth the money IMO

I have had mine installed since about 9,000 miles. now at 12,000...I have collected maybe 10ml of oil tops. Barely anything.

Amazing how much variation there is in these mass produced motors!

An oil separator makes good sense on a NA motor, And it's a must on a forced induction motor.
