Its not about not getting the attention of a Ford rep but to let other mustang owners aware of the issue. People post everything and anything to what there having for breakfast, lunch, dinner and what music there listening to now. We live in a total media society and people update there Facebook status when there taking a crap.

If thousands or hundreds of engines were being blown up by performance tunes it would be all over the internet especially the car forums. People would be posting that all day long and nothing to do with not getting a Ford reps attention. It would be all over the several different mustang forums. Nada, nothing.

I can assure you that at my dealership (as well as other KC area dealers) engines are still being replaced. All be it, no where near as often as transmissions lol.

Believe me, not everyone is posting their every move online. Perhaps your circle of friends are, but more and more people are dropping out of media and/or being extremely careful what type of material they publicly post.

Just like the email phishing learning curve of a few years back, the public is learning what to avoid on 'trendy' media. Anything that can mess with careers, warrantee's, legal issues, etc., is extremely dangerous to their future, and millions are wising up.

The NSA scandal has only made people more aware to stfu online. Other than younger doucebags.

You won't get any resistance from me about the MT82 having issues. That seems to consistently been problematic ever since I first started on these threads. I have an automatic along with the 3.7 so I suffered none of the #8 engine or MT82 issues. I certainly don't work at a Ford dealership like you so certainly you would no what's breaking down often.

I remember back in 2011 people on the forums were complaining about the #8 issue. You don't hear about that issue anymore on the forums or internet for what ever reason. I believe no one complains about it because the issue was no longer an issue or at least its made out to seem that way.

Its also my understanding that AM has a #8 warranty. How does the warranty on the #8 work and what is the criteria for AM to fix it. I have no clue. You had mentioned that AM has denied claims to fix the #8 issue on your current clients vehicles. I would love to know why AM was not honoring there warranty. Is this true? Maybe! It would be nice to know AM's side of your statement which may be accurate and truthful. Perhaps, Dan or Shane could enlighten us on how the warranty works and why many customers cars aren't being fixed under their #8 warranty clause .

Also surprising , that people aren't posting and screaming how AM are frauds and refuse to fix the # 8 issue after having the warranty. People on here complain about shipping costs to Canada but when 5.0 engines are blowing up all over the place from Bama tunes, not one person is screaming about it. That's crazy. Respectfully, I haven't read one recent post in almost the last 2 years on how AM caused damage to the #8 engine and refused to honor there warranty.

If AM promised me something, like a warranty on a broken item and then left me hanging with a large fix it bill I would be posting everywhere what a fraud lying company they were. I would really like to see Dan post about this #8 issue.

My #8 piston popped almost exactly a year ago on a stock calibration. My car was one of the first group to come off of the assembly line.

Immediately after getting my car back, I put a cai, o/r x pipe, cat back exhaust, and custom dyno tune. I have put about 14k miles on my car since then and everything is still very strong. I work at a performance shop and I performed a leak down test about a month ago and my engine is still very nice and tight. The issue was most definitely in the original calibrations and has since been addressed by ford and tuners everywhere.

It's not a 2011/2012 issue nor is it a mechanical issue. Mod away!

This thread means as much to me as another "MT82 issue" or another "which CAI is best" thread. He's posting about a problem that he doesn't even have. That is spreading BS.

People post every aspect of there life on social media sights including forums like this. Here is just one example of the crap people post and its shear nonsense. Nobody cares about this girl being at an airport with screaming babies. People feel the need to post that but people not going to post about how there cars engine was destroyed and the company who caused the damaged is failing to honor there warranty. Hog wash I say

I purchases a cai and tune from Steeda in the early days of my 2011 5.0 and have had zero serious issues. Sometimes I wonder if I should ask them to update my tune in keeping with the current knowlege of these motors, but thus far the only issue I have had includes a few random misfire codes which once sent the motor into limp home mode. Reflashed and months of trouble free driving. I am just over 50k miles.

It wouldn't hurt. I'm sure they have had a few revisions since then.

As long as you are smooth with the shifter it works great. Once you start trying to force it into gears it binds up and doesn't shift right
