Please advise as to how you are tuning this car? Seeing that SCT and Diablo both have no support for the 5.0 as of yet I'm sure everyone is curious as to what is being utilized. If you could also post the exact roller weight for each dyno pull that would be helpful as well. Great results and should easily rip off a high 11 with that extra 40hp.

Judging by the dyno graphs I dont think that they are completely custom tuning the car. My guess is that maybe they are using a device like a Mafia to dial in the A/f ratio and thats about it. If it was a custom tune where they were allowed to tweak every parameter, I believe that the first thing done would be raising the rev limiter way pass the 6800 factory cut off. Also when changing the advance and retard on VCT the power curve tends to change shape. Both of theirs look like carbon copies of each other, just one is higher then the other.

Just my take on it. Im sure myself and everyone else would love to know either way.

Again Im not knocking them, the numbers are great! Just my view of whats going on.

We are really tuning the car, I just can't discuss how at this time. We have changed timing, fuel, cat temp control, rear o2's! The VCT stuff is being worked on, it's extremely complicated and there is a lot of stuff tied to other stuff!

All this is completely new and will take a little time to figure out. We've had the car less then a week, I think were doing pretty good so far!

I'm saving the latest dyno videos for after the track so I can mix those videos in! Tomorow will be very interesting at the track I promise!

I also want to thank everyone who has supported us the whole time, we really appreciate it!

Raising the limiter, doesn't raise the limiter, I'll leave it at that.... People that don't know what to do with this new type of stradegy are going to hurt some engines!

Ok, I certainly don't pretend to know. However, the car is seriously handicapped for performance if it can't be shifted well above peak power. I have no doubt ya'll know that, and would like to think that at some point, it will be done.

Told ya this engine/PCM combo was unlike anything before

It'll take some time, and even then.

It really is some intense stuff....it makes the 2010 Taurus SHO Strategy look like a 93 Mustang GT strategy when comparing to the new 2011 5.0L 4V... People trying to tune this car can cause some serious engine damage very quickly and easily if they apply everything currently know....

The VCT, Torque Management, the chasity belt and other stuff is almost figured out, but in the mean time we will work with what we have, which is better then nothing....

WOW very interesting comments comparing the new SHO and its brains compared to the new 5.0.

This is a very exciting time for us muscle car lovers!!

Keep up the great work and informative posts.

Maybe the roller weight would explain why their stock GB 2010 GT500 got 510RWHP with just a 93 Octane tune and none of us who bought that tune from them have come anywhere close. Mustang or Dynojet. No offense to Evo but I haven't seen anyone backup the claims on their 2010 GT500 so I watch these 2011 numbers with caution. Some full disclosure by Evo would really help add credibility to all this work.

Keep up the hard work!

So is this new ECU (copperhead?) better than the old one? Or just more complex with no added benefits for tuning?

Way better then the old one, very complicated with many, and I mean many added features!

How are you able to interface with it? Do you have an in-house tool, or are you working with one of the name brand programmers?
