So you're saying that there aren't even 50 people TOTAL that would buy an automatic GT500.
I'm saying that Ford would sell a lot more than that, PER YEAR, considering how many buyers there are out there.
There's many people that will never consider a car like a Viper/GT500/Z06 because they're not available with an automatic.
Giving the buyer the choice is what it's all about.

A "slushbox" as many of you call it isnt as bad as it seems. The automatics now a days are light years ahead of the tech back even before 2000. Im all for the man-and-machine idea but from comfort, market oppurtunity, and ease of use standpoints and auto would be just fine. The new auto's in the 5.0's and 3.7's are insanely smooth, and of course theres always the option of a paddleshift as well.
In my honest opinion there is no substitute for the emotional connection when you get a manual transmission. But theres absolutely nothing wrong with an auto.

I don't think the general idea is that the automatics are "slushboxes" anymore I think it's more like "row your own" it's a muscle car.
Just my opinion but I feel more connected and it's more fun to drive a manual car, especially a mustang.
Driving a car is quite different than riding along in one.

A Man Just Needs Some....
I don't know man. If you ever get to drive one of those Italian super cars with an auto and paddles, man it's a new world. I really like an auto that shifts when I tell it to. I believe the manual only Shelby is a big reason a lot of auto vettes are sold also.
